Our 206X would make a nice cam for you. Strong torque, not a super high revver.

Gears will definitely help you in the future. Fairly expensive mod on a 4x4 but worth it. 4.10's are a good choice.

Gears on a 4x4 will run you $500 min just for the gears. Figure another $500 to get them installed. You would have to get both front and rear gears, which doubles the cost. I bought a set of 4.10s for mine last year from 4wheelparts.com during a sale, paid about $200 or so for the gears and master install kit. Still have to get them installed though.

On the PCM issue, I would not pay full price for one. If you find one for $100-150 max, then it would make a good deal. And you can keep the old one, swap back and forth as needed. Chances are good that if you decide the MP PCM is not really needed, you can sell it for the same price you paid for it. For me when I first bought mine, it was cheap and everuthing I had read at the time indicated it was a good thing to get. I really liked it while it was on, and the truck was my daily driver. Now the truck is undergoing some work, I bought a 2nd car to drive and when finished the truck will be a play truck only. Without having to fill it up every week I can afford to run premium, and I get that last bit of power out of it. It just depends on where you want to take your truck and how you plan on using it.

Again, similar paths. The cam I'd cited is nearly identical in lift/duration figures to the KRC 206X. KRC has done a lot of work on different packages, from what I have seen. I don't have anything against them, for those who may have misunderstood.

This is where I got mine. Figure out what axle your truck has and go from there. They run sales from time to time as well, so it can be a pretty good deal.

Look at the rear differential cover. 10 bolts is an 8.25", 12 is 9.25" I am pretty sure that is it. If you look on the website it has pictures as well.

I just wanted to ask, can't you get your pcm tuned for the mods you add on? Why add a pcm first if you can have it tuned with all of the mods you already put on?

That's an honest question. There is no custom flashing on pre-96 computers - your choices are limited to stock computers or Mopar Performance computers. The upside is that those computers are more performance friendly to begin with.

Why can the computers before 96 not be flahsed? Would it be better to have a custom flash on a post-'96 or just go with the mopar performance?

Right, Here within was your mistake.
Turning the dist. on these motors does not set the
timing, It sets the fuel injector sync.
(hence why your truck won't start)
Once you install your crank and cam gears your
timing is strictly controlled by the pcm)

A walk through =
Remove cap,
You need to get the motor to TDC on the
compression stroke.
(removing #1 plug and having someone put a thumb
over the hole untill they feel or hear the air
works good)
While turning the crank if you pass TDC do not
rotate backward, Go all the way around again.

Once you have it on TDC & on compression stroke
Go look in the dist.
You will see a plate under the rotor, On that
plate you should either see a line or a line/#1
You now want to loosen the dist. and slowly turn
it so the blade of the rotor just touches the
line.

Once you have this done if your truck still won't
start something else is wrong.

Post back if you need more help.
