4 quarts to refill after draining. The entire tranny holds 10 (after a rebuild) dont know about the converter capacity. kinda irrelevant though - since you cant drain it. Make sure you use ATF+3 or ATF+4 (preferred) Or Amsoil NO Dexron!

Cooling System, Initial Fill .......... 14.0 quarts
Automatic Transmission, Initial Fill .......... 4.0 quarts[2]
Automatic Transmission, Total Fill
4 speed .......... 10.0 quarts
Manual Transmission, AX-15 .......... 6.5 pints
Differential, with 8.25 ring gear Rear .......... 4.4 pints[3]
Differential, Front .......... 2.5 pints[4]
Differential, with 7.25 ring gear Rear .......... 3.0 pints[5]
Transfer Case, .......... 2.1 pints

1. After refill check oil level
2. With engine automatic transmission operating temperature, shift through all gears. Check fluid level in NEUTRAL and add fluid as needed.
3. Fill no higher then 1/4 inch below plug hole.
4. Fill no higher than 1/2 to 5/8 inch below fill plug.
5. Fill no higher then 3/4 inch below plug hole.

TORQUES

Oil Drain Plug ..... 20 ft-lbs
Transfer case
Fill Plug ..... 35 ft-lbs
Drain Plug ..... 35 ft-lbs
Manual Transmission
Fill Plug ..... 27 ft-lbs
Drain Plug ..... 27 ft-lbs

a 5.2 only holds 4 quarts of oil? Really?

the 4.7 holds 6 quarts.

You do the math, witch will get unusable quicker?

It was quoted to me as 4 quarts of oil for the 1992 5.2L engine.

Please correct me where necessary.
