Subject: fan noise during take off

This topic was posted the other day, (some great info) by the way...Some people suggested that the cause is the fan clutch, well I did that and still truck sounded like it had a supercharger. To make a long story short the cause to my noise was the water pump, so if you guys run into this problem take that into consideration.

I would first replace the fan clutch, chances are this is your problem. I did that but the bearings in the pump were shot, keep in mind that tne fan bolts on to the water pump. It was a fairly easy job. just make sure you have everything you will need when you replace it like water pump gasket, new clamps, and a new oring on the dipstick shaft that goes in the water pump.
