I waiting on the Turbo too....

Duner's running 12.7's in a CLUB CAB!
I don't think you'd see that with a supercharger.
The turbos are more reliable too. They aren't spinning off of your crank.

BOOST FOR ALL.

I'll be selling my Mustang for the TURBO. Hate to see it go, but a 12 sec Dakota you don't see everyday...12 sec Mustangs are a different story.

That's a sweet truck kicker...Mmmm mm mmm.
I forget what the 'technical' name for it is,,but I love a nice scoop rising out of the hood like that. Especially the older looking ones w/3 butterfly valves.
I would love to have one,,but no superchager to back it up.
Question: When you have your induction setup like that for a super w/the intake rising out of the hood,,,,,can you drive only in clear weather???
Thanks

Kicker- do you know the guy with that truck? That is a serious Bucks-Up truck. That Gear Vendors Overdrive unit behind the transmission is like a $3500 piece. Not to mention the whole Carburetor conversion and supercharger set-up! Yowch. That thing goes fast AND gets good mileage on the highway. Jeez.

I saw the numbers for the Paxton on a 4.7 and I was not very impressed. The horsepower increased quite a bit but the torque only went up to like 308 lb tq. Maybe that is at the wheels or a typo. I would hope so. I quite liked the 4.7 in my in-laws Jeep Grand Cherokee. Pretty peppy.

Poking along until I get a 408!

Pat.... I believe the TURBO will be a little less expensive than the SUPER.. Duner... Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but I believe Duner and Speed Tweeks are looking in the area of $3,200-$3,500 for the TURBO. The superchargers are going to run you about $4,000 any way you go.

The Turbo's are probably going to look a whole lot sweeter on the dyno too.

I'm designing a twin turbo system for my brother 2000 dakota 4.7, Question is where can I find information about the fuel system on this vehicle. I never have seen the truck, I live in ohio, he's in colorado. I assume these are fuelinjected or is it throttle body injected? Is there a fuel cut system, cuts fuel via changing the injectors pulse width by reading airflow??
I have a good knowledge of turbo systems.. looking at using two T3's or 2 big 16g's. with front mounted intercooler, psi set around 20, or more depending on what the fuel system can handle.

Long Distance Good Intentions

Hahahahaha.....good luck Sean. I predict few problems with a long distance designed system. Since you've never seen the truck, you probably don't quite understand the space limitations to begin with. Second, the truck has a speed/density fuel system. The truck has 9.5:1 compression, so you're gonna need some awesome fuel if you plan on trying to push 20 psi thru it. Like I said.... good luck!

Compressions won't be a prob, just have to upgrade the fuel system, probably go with an out of tank fuel pump and upgraded FPR. As far as if the truck is fuel injected? May need larger injectors.

How does the speed/density system work?? I'm not familar with it... I have a 91 Talon TSI awd.
IF he decides to go with my design, it'll be turned into a 'show' truck. (not lowered though)The only twin turboed 2000 4.7 dakota!!
