 Subject: 3.9l to 5.9l swap

I have a 2WD 92' dakota and want to swap in a 97' 5.9L. What is required to do this swap? My questions are: Engine mounts, tranny mount/bolt pattern, fuel pump, oil pan, radiator, electric or flex fan, hood clearance, exhaust bolt up/header, gas mileage, performance 0-60, quarter mile

Engine mounts: same.
Tranny mount bolt pattern: will bolt right up, balance is different though so you'll need to add weights to your torque converter or get a flexplate from a 96 and up 360 that has the weights on it (only like $25 at the dealer).
Fuel pump: all set.
Oil Pan: get an oil pan from a Dakota R/T, Dakota Quad Cab with a 360, or a Durango with a 360. That will work best.
Radiator: no problem, you'll have to cut away some of the cowling around it though.
Fan: flex fans stink, try a Black Magic 150 electric.
Hood clearance: no problem.
Exhaust: get V8 headers or use stock manifolds for a 95 or earlier because you need EGR.
Gas mileage: best guess, 15 or so.
0-60 and 1/4 mile: who knows.
Also, you will need a different intake manifold since your '92 runs EGR. And you'll need a 360 computer to run it.

And an underhood wiring harness for a V8 of your year or wire in 2 more injector wires yourself.
You'll also need a V8 Tb from a 92 or use your v6 Tb....eeewww!!!

I have a 92 dakota also, just picked it up with the 5.9 swap already done. it eats through the driver motor mount like nothing so my question to you guys is what can i do to prevent this other than drive it like a grandma? and i just replaced my power steering rack, both inner and outer tie rods and the steering is overly touchy and sensitive... is this a probl;em or are all 92's this way? its also dropped on spindels in the front and blocked in the rear. could this ba a steering issue?
