Might as well upgrade to roller rockers while you are in there. The stock rockers on the R/T are 1.6 ratio, but are not roller rockers.

Stock is 1.6, non-roller. Upgrading to Roller is recommened, especially if going with a new cam. I sell the Crower 1.6/1.7 ratio rockers, stainless.

If cost is a factor, you coudl look into the Crane/Mopar rockers. Not as high of quality as the Crowers, but nice no the less. I have the 1.6 Mopars on my truck, and they work good, and you will probably never have a problem with them. They come complete with guide plates, and new pushrods for around $350-$400. Only problem with them is they don't come with instructions, and you have to double nut on the studs which sucks because the nuts they supply SUCK.

actually i would like to find reputable mechanic around here. i dont have the tools or the knowledge to do this myself. i would also like to do the roller rockers, cam, M1 and valve covers all at once.
eventually i want to get new ported heads on but that will be a little while down the road.

Unless you are extracting every last ounce of performance I don't see how the 1.6 roller rockers are worth the money. The 1.7's effectively increase cam lift so they do add power, but the 1.6 rollers only help with friction and I don't think there is that much to be had in the rockers. Personally I wish they made stamped steel 1.7 rockers, that would be a good bang for the buck mod there, about $130 for probably 20 hp and easy install. Plus no durability problems like on the aluminum rockers.
