I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport 4.7 L 2 door
crew cab with a manual transmission 380000 km
I'm getting ready to do the motor swap and I
found a 4.7 L ho from a 2002 Jeep Cherokee
First question I can't find any information
but I need to know if that motor will bolt up
to my transmission
2000 dakota vin 1B7GL22N7YS622296
2002 Cherokee vin 1J8GW68J82C258578
I have confirmed that both vehicles are jtec
connections

I am in the process of the same
swap,I'm using shoty headers to help
with cylinder cooling and SCT 3200
tuner to bring ECM up to match,I'm
thinking this and good gas should keep
engine knock away since knock sensors
will not be used. I would remove and
clean the interior of the oil pan and
replace crank seals while its out,
also a new set of lash adjusters is
highly recommended. All bolt patterns
are the same and the only difference
with exterior parts are
plugs,injectors and harmonic balancer
