Subject: Water driping from my muffler

OK Gang I have a question. When I first start my Dak I am getting water driping from the tail pipe(which is normal) but also from the back of the muffler. I get as much water, if not more from the muffler, than the tailpipe. I called the service dept at the local Dodge dealer(not known for there great repair work)and they said this is normal, the stock muffler has a vent to allow water out. Anybody else have this problem or ever heard of this? I have not noticed any increase in the sound level of the engine. Thanks for the help

Yeah, our 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport does the exact same thing, guess this helps the muffler from rusting out. My 91 Dakota has a nice big hole in the muffler right now, its rusted out pretty bad.

Most mufflers have a hole in htem to let the water drip out and keep the muffler from rusting. I've had a couple mufflers that didn't have the hole so i drilled one myself.
