i am thinking about puting 4.10 gears in my dakota i just have a view ?s
1 what is intall cost
2 how much is gas mileage changed
3 the the rumor of a .5 seconds off the 1/4 mile true
4 how much is the launch effected
5 will it effect factory warranty
any advice would be nice please keep all smart a$$ remarks to yourself, im just looking for alittle help so my truck can be the rice burner smokin beast i bought it to be
2002 rc 5spd

I just had mine installed
1) $180 for the Trac-Loc, $80 install kit and about $270 for gears, installed by a friend for a 12 pack
2) My city driving mpg actually improved a little as the motor does not work as hard to get to speed, I have not done a highway trip yet, but expect it to be less by a little
3) have not been to the track yet
4) off the line response is great! in the wet weather you have to drive careful so as not to end up turned completely around. a limited slip is a requirement for great dry launches, two wheel burnouts are fun.
5) not sure but I would think it would not if installed by a qualified tech

My qc when I'm at 70 mph is at 2400 rpm with my 3.55LSD...Hmmm?

As for rpm, different tire size matters as well.
I run 235X60X16 tires.
