Subject: Crower 1.7 Roller Rocker Group Buy

I talked to Sam at socaldakota.com today about the group buy that Mario was sponsoring. Sam has 3 responses to the current group buy, that includes me. If we can get 2 more people to respond them Sam will go ahead with this deal. If you want the roller rockers send Sam an email at performanceparts.cox.net. His number is 619-274-1294. From what I have read about Sam he honest and up front with customers about his products. If you are interested in improving the performance of your V6 Dakota now is the time to place an order on this group buy. Sam and Larry from J and J Auto are here to help with installation. As Larry has stated in previous posts, a throttle body upgrade and the 1.7 roller rockers are 2 of the best upgrades you can put on your truck. The total cost for both approx 500 dollars for both. This should cause a horse power of approximately 30 to 35 hp at the rear wheels if I have read the posts right. My goal is to get my truck dyno'ed after Roller Rocker installation. John from Washington State-Wadak.

Anyone needing help just let me know sometimes
Sam is out racing and you may have to wait a few
days.

He also has a good set of instructions on his site
for the 1.7 install.

The rollers give you a lot more low end torque
starting at 1800, Its a very noticable improvement
in performance accros the entire rpm range

I think Sam said $315 or $325 for the rockers
there is no TB you will have to get that seporate
from sam $100 and you may need a cable $35

The group buy is for rockers only unless you talk
Sam into a deal on both togather

I guess it is close to $500 for both.

The first set I got was $450 plus shipping so
the price has been coming down but never this low
the last set I got was $350 plus shipping

I hope I didnt confuse anybody by talking about the throttle body at the same time I mentioned the roller rockers. The only thing Sam had agreed to was the group buy for the Roller Rockers. The cost for Throttlebody and Roller Rocker is an estimate only. The price for the v8 TB will depend on where you purchase it. Before I found out about Sam's business I purchased my v8 tb from Walt and Vern's in Summner Washington. They run a very clean, well organized salvage yard. I paid 120 bucks for mine. Sam may have them cheaper.

Here is a the post from Mario on Sept. 22nd:

Just in case anyone is interested, Sam from SoCal Dakota is offering the Crower 1.7 ratio roller rockers (standard kit for the 3.9) for an incredible $305 shipped. The deal is that he needs at least 5 orders (really 4 orders, because I already jumped on this one) to make this work. This is (by far) the best price I've seen for these! (Sam's normal low price for the standard 1.7 kit for the 3.9 is $350 shipped.)

Check out the Group Buy Forum for info.

Mario
This would be a very good price for the Roller Rockers. Any additional takers. If so belly up to the forum and send SAM an email.

I live just outside Portland, Oregon in Hillsboro.

I've been to Kent several times, but it's been a while.

We will have to get together sometime, I haven't met another modded V6 Dak owner.

Sounds like we're really close on this group buy. I suggest that, if you're sitting on the fence about whether to get the rockers right now, search around the internet for prices. I haven't seen anything close to the price being offered by Sam under this group buy.

This mod should really help with what is probably the biggest weakness of the V6 (or, at least MY V6) -- LOW END power.

OK-- here's the deal (as I have had people say there are in, then when I email them they are out---GRRR)-- I am going to up the price a whopping $5.00 for either kit. From there, order away-- that'll cover my time to either drive down to get the kits, or pay for the drop shipments.

For those of you that need valve covers, I only have 1 set available right now. More soon-- or if people are into it, we can do the marry go round swaps with the valve covers... Timewise, though that might take too long for some.

Anyway-- this is now on, and open for orders. I will conclude this offering for the V6 guys Oct 1, 2003

I accept paypal to performanceparts@cox.net or Send MO to

Sam Parthemer
9545 Medina Drive
Santee, CA. 92071

$310 shipped (revised price) standard kit good to 5500 rpm (rockers, studs and washers)

I have 2 TBs on ebay right now, and 2 additional available. Bid on the Ebay no-reserve TBs and you might get a deal, otherwise I sell them for $90+ shipping ($101 total)-- Cables run $34 shipped, new from mopar.

*You can send it registered mail, or priority mail, or ups, fedex, etc...to ensure that I get it*

I am ordering as I get paid... Shipments usually by the following day (if before 1pm that day) In the event of a backorder, it'll be shipped as soon as it's available (usually backorders, when they happen, last less than a week).

I'll have 2 sets of valve covers modified, and ready for powdercoating next week-- so keep that in mind if you are interested. Powdercoating turn around is 1 week after order. I ship USPS priority mail on the valve covers.
