I am looking at a Chevy 1500, its a 1995, 70,000 miles, fully loaded, stepside bed, V8, 5 speed. Needs no work, ready to go.
should I trade the guy (he is willing to take a trade of my truck plus about a grand and a half)
my truck is a 1996 club cab, V6, 110,000 miles, needs new tires, brakes, trasmission is going. and mine is not fully loaded,
what should I do, fix the dodge, or trade sides and buy the chevy?
totally honest answers would be helpful.

Well, asking this on a Dakota site will get you some skewed answers!
Nothing wrong with the Chevy. It doesn't really compare to a Dakota, two very different vehicles.
The Chevy will run forever, easy and cheap to fix/mod but the interior is cheap and plastic and usually the knobs and stuff are broken!
If the Chevy was real nice it might be time to leave the Dakota!
I much prefer the size of the Dak over a full size truck though..........

It seems like a pretty good deal. Even though I am a HARDCORE Dodge fanatic, I think even I would take that deal. It would be a great trade in on a new Dakota ;-)

I think I would go for that deal, figure out what you think your truck is worth (maybe $2500) add $1,500 cash and your up to $4,000. That is a pretty good price for a full size truck, four wheel drive with only 70,000 miles, especially if its good conditon, have you checked to see what a similar truck sells for in your area? Here in the St. Louis area you can't even buy a crappy two wheel drive, mid 90s model under 100,000 miles for $3,000.

both trucks look and run good,plus you can keep your truck or sell it
