I have a 88 3.9 v6 dakota. Does anyone know
where I could find brakes and other parts for it.
Also it lacks power. The cat seems to be clean
, but the prevoius owner thought it was the
throttle body. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Play around with the timing. On my 'ol 88 i advanced the timing and found enough power to actuall rip a bit off the line (auto with no powerbrake) and scratch second on occasion... I want to say I ran about 12 degrees BTDC at idle... at about 14 it ran better but had a horrendous bog to it...

KICK HIS AZZ SEABASS!

Had to say it. But Cut the KAT out if possible. A free flowing intake helps tremendously. And the better muffler is good.
Good Luck.
Oh any regular parts store has brake stuff etc. NAPA does for sure.

Stock brake parts are easy to find for both 2wd and 4wd. Every major chain store has or can order them. Shop around alot. Huge price differences. Harder is finding performace parts. I could only find them for the 4wd. Because the 4wd has seperate hubs and rotors on front unlike the 2wd which has one piece hub and rotor. I was able to find some slotted rotors for 4wd at AutoZone and JC Whitney.com. Recommend you only get steel master cylinders. Aluminum ones are junk. And stick with name brands like Raybestos.
