 Subject: Smoke!!

My 239 blows blue smoke whenever I let it idle for a while, when I take off again. A cloud of blue smoke comes from my exhaust but it doesn't last very long. I figure it's either a stuck control ring or leaky valve seals but I don't know for sure. I know it's not compression rings cause I checked it and all cyls. are good. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, (other than burning it) please let me know.

Man, if those are valve seals those are -horrible- valve seals. :0/ Could be, how long has it been doing that? Usually with valve seals they only leak enough to burn oil on startup...
What year is the truck? Have you checked to see if the belly-pan gasket has failed? (Not uncommon!)

Valve seals normally only leak on initial startup and then it clears up. If it's leaking at idle and on acceleration, I would be looking at the rings instead.
Don't rule out the belly pan though (as Todd mentioned).
