Subject: Engine swap with issues

I hope someone can help me with the problem I am having. I just bought a 99 Ram from my employer, which has a 3.9 engine in it out of a Dakota. The truck idles rough, has no power and there is a bad popping sound coming from the engine. I had the truck into our shop the other day and it seemed to be fine until I took it home. The thing hardly carried itself to my house. I know the mechanics changed the computer, coil, wires, cap, rotor and plugs. Now a couple weeks ago my mothers Camry was pretty much doing the same thing and I replace the temperature sensor and it fixed it. Should I try this or do you guys think it may be something from the engine swap. This is my first dodge and I really want to make a decent truck out of it. Oh and it only has 170,000kms on it. Thanks in advance and any help would be appreciated. I also have access to a scanner so if anyone has any suggestions let me know.
