Hey guys, i've got a base line '03 dakota. It's got a 5 speed and the 3.9L V6.

The dashboard that came with it does not have oil pressure and a volt meter, just gas and temp. I was curious whether i could find a dash that had the extra gauges, and just swap it out without much hassle.

My big concern is if the odometer will stay the same. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

The odometer will not be affected .
It is only a readout - the info is in the computer..

the mileage is only stored in the puter on a 98-99 2000 up its in the security system in the under the dash not the dash panel....if you change your faceplate the mileage will stay the same...

The dash swap will work fine except you will need
to change the sending units from the light type
to the guage type and it will work great and it
should also plug right in

So to clarify...

If i go to my friendly local junk yard, pick up a 6 gauge dash from a MT dakota, it should bolt right in? Then after that, i need to drive it to a dodge dealership to have them change the mileage?

J&J, by changing the sending units....you dont mean getting a new oil sending unit and battery volt meter?
