Well I have an 03 Dakota 3.9 (strong engine love this thing) well im looking for aftermarket intakes and coming up with nothing, is porting the intake and heads the only thing you can do to these or is there some place hidden very well that i can not find. any help is great.

Only mods so far: K&N in box filter(junk)
Flow Master 40series, Bosch Platniums 4

yeah, the "kegger" or "beer barrel" intakes on the Magnum engines is built for low end torque. you won't find anything aftermarket for it but there are a couple of guys modding them out there. cutting the runnners down, cleaning up the ports and injector bungs, etc...

A few things to keep in mind
Modded intakes
(Ported, Cut runners)

add a bit more power and trq. however
it's moved farther up in the power band

(you won't notice it untill higher RPM's)

So moving it to high in the power band you will suffer low end trq and could also lower your MPG's

With all that said if your motor is stock
don't get carried away with the intake
(meaning if they are listed in stages you don't want or need a stage 3)
