Subject: what chip is best for speed and torque IP: Logged
Message: I have a 00 dakota with a 3.9 V6. I HAVE GOT TO FIND A WAY TO GET MORE SPEED. ha ha. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it faster. I put a K&N air intake, E3 spark plugs and all high quality parts on when i did a complete tune up. Iv heard getting a chip will help... Is this true? If so what kind?

E3's are not all that great!
NGK FR5's
good cap an rotor
(go to NAPA ask for echlin)
good set of wires
TPS mod
IAT MOD
crank sensor MOD
you'll be quite happy with
what these things will do
performance muffler
(which ever you like)
I chose a flowmaster 50 series
(3 chamber)
had a tail made to run straight out the back
noticed a small increase in performance
love the sound! (so don't my sons)
(prior to that I tried a cheap summit turbo
then tried a dynomax super turbo,
the dynomax had a nice sound but
i noticed no change in performance)
from there
a larger or ported TB
(I believe Fastman has the highest customer satisfaction rate)
then it's into the valve covers

Message: on your 00 you can get a superchips tunner
that would be the best and you can also use it
with all the free mods and the bigger tb and the
1.7's
As many have with great resaults
be wiser buy guiser chips, the oil wil clean the
grease right off your hands
Like a friend of mine once said when your hands
are dirty eat some hardies french fries it will
take the dirt right off LOL
