My 1999 Dodge Dakota truck will stall out when the outside temp gets above 100 degrees. when it does the fuel pump stops working and the fuel gauge will not go up.
If I cool the car down with water it will come back in a few minutes. new cat,fuel pump, o2sensors next step the computer?
please help if this sounds familiar.

George, it sounds like the fuel pump relay could be going bad, I think you can change places with the ADC relay and see if that helps, no wait if your fuel pump relay is bad then you wouldn't have any fire to start the engine. You could still change them out to see if the fuel pump starts working, if it does then you have a bad fuel pump relay. Sorry but that's the best I can come up with.

How is the connector to the fuel pump ?
If corroded at all - may be part of problem..

Your fuel pump is bad replace it
The fuel pump is not run by the computer it has
a relay that has the ground side turned on when
key is turned on it will run for a few secs than
shut down and turn back on when its cranked
A bad pump will shut down when hot it needs to be
replaced
When the gas tank is below half the pump is not in
the gas and if bad will run hot and shut down when
full it will not happen as often
Auto zone has the carter master repalacements
comes with new pump, filter and guage sender
for around $200 get one and your problem will
be solved
It has nothing to do with the computer or engine
temp its the pump
