probably, considering there's no such thing as a "Timing position Sensor."

youre thinking throttle position sensor. it'll cause surging at highway speed, crappy throttle response and errattic idle.

I think he's talking about the crankshaft position sensor...which deals with the timing. I think it usually throws a code, but not always. Or maybe I got that backwards. Jake...help us out a lil more. What's your truck doing?

nope, already replaced the CPS, and yes, throttle position sensor is what I meant, sorry about that. Sometimes It feels like I'm getting too much gas and not enough spark, most of the time around 50mph. I've replaced the wires, plugs, dist. cap, rotor button, CPS, o2, hall effect pickup. I've checked for water in the fuel tank, checked the fuel pump, checked for vac leaks, on and on, just not the TPS yet. Should I spend however much the TPS costs and try it out, or go back to the dealer and have them check it again and tell me that nothing is wrong?

TPS sensors are cheap...won't hurt to try it. I think they're like $25 at Autozone. I'm really not sure what it could be...maybe someone else will know.

Have you checked the coil primary and secondary resistances? What model year and mileage?
