Ok, I've searched the prior messages and I'm convinced I want to go with a spray on bedliner. My only decision now is whether to go with Line-X or Rhino. Can those of you who are in the know give me a few pro's and con's of one or the other.
It's my understanding from a co-worker that the Rhino liner is thicker and not quite as hard as the Line-X. It's also my understanding that the Line-X actually looks better than the Rhino. Any comments positive or negative on either type would be appreciated. Cost is not a factor since they are both about the same price (Rhino $375 vs Line-X $380).

Your exactly right! I have had both so speaking from experience, The rhino is a little bit more rubbery than the line-x but the line-x is not really that much thinner. The rhino is actually thinner in some places and thicker in others than the line-x. The line-x has a better finished look and the texture is more pleasing to the eye. It really is a matter of personal choice as both are good. I am going to go back with the line-x. Whichever you get, make sure you get the UV protectant sprayed on. Both have one they can put on. It will keep it looking new and shiny!

I just got a Line-x sprayed in my QC about a week ago, and i went with it for two reasons, first i liked the texture better then the rhino, which i thought was a little too soft, plus i liked the more uniform texture of line-x over the random blobs of rhino. The other reason, and the main reason i chose it was price, the shops around my area wanted 100 bucks more for rhino, that made no sense to me for basically the same product.

I've got the rhino liner in my truck. Don't know really how it compares to the line-x cuz there isn't a line-x dealer for miles around. As far as the rhino being softer, I don't feel that's a bad thing. I haul stuff sometimes that I might not want to get scuffed up ... with the rhino liner being softer I guess I don't have to worry about that. It's also REALLY non-slip ... so stuff doesn't slide at all.

I've had the Line-X in my Quad Cab for almost a year now. I'm very pleased with it. The black color is now a lighter shade of black, but still looks great. There's a lot of choices here in silicon valley so I had to do some research. I chose the Line-X for several reasons. First is a more consistant thickness. The product dries within five seconds. Since it's thick, five seconds isn't enough time for the product to run to the lowest areas. (I've heard that other products have problems with corners, bed sides, and the edges of the ribs on the floor due to gravity pulling their product towards the lowest point - Providing you with an uneven thickness) Second is the even texture. Line-X has a patented "recipe" with an application method that, when sprayed, will evenly spread the granuals. Third was the price. Fourth was the thickness. Fifth was the texture. Sixth was the price...

Blizz, you're right, the rhino really is non slip. Like I said, had both. The line-x isn't hard enough to scratch anything, just not quite as rubbery as the rhino. Like Jason said about the rhino it tends to be a little thinner on top of the ridges on the bed floor because it doesn't dry as fast. Again, both are good and I recommend either. Personal choice.

As mentioned on an ealier post, I recently chose Line-X and am extremely pleased. Just as significant were my two friends with Rhino liners who both agree the Line-X looks nicer.
Had I not had a choice, the Rhino would have been fine. It's certainly nicer than a drop-in liner.

We use Toff on all of our work trucks (seven dakotas) and they are exactly like Rhino with a few more options. The Line-X guy told me that Rhino and Toff are sister companies. The Toff people gave me a choice on what texture I want. Their normal texture looks exactly like Rhino. I originaly thought that the Rhino, being softer, would gouge and scratch easier. Not true. We haved used these trucks all day every day since 97 when we bought them and the bed liners look almost new (when clean). One truck got rear ended and they had to take it up to have the bed liner fixed. It looks like nothing ever happened. My personal truck goes in on Monday to get sprayed. The Line-X guy said that they are all very comparable, its just a personal preference on hardness and texture. I don't have any experience with Line-X so I really have nothing to say about them. My main reason for going with Toff on my personal truck is because I get the Company discount of $325.

Thanks so much for all of the informed responses guys! I'm armed with plenty of info, now I just need to choose.
I'm leaning toward the Line-X from an appearance standpoint, but I'm curious how the Line-X stands up in the non-slip category. Is the Line-X also somewhat non-slip in nature?

I have Line-X. Love it. I've hauled rock and dirt in it.....cleans right up, no problem. My helper dinged the tailgate with a shovel. Took it to the Line-X dealer, fixed in no time! I swore I'd never have a new truck...because I didn't want to be afraid to use it. I've used this one to death, thanks to the spray in.

Both Rhino and LineX are great liners. Maybe you should check out PermaTech. They are supposed to have the best UV protection for a colored liner on the market. I had one put in my new R/T and the color match to the red was perfect. Nice liner, highly recommended!

I've got the Rhino. I think it looks great. I have a black Dak so it matches, of course. It is rubbery, but I think that's a good thing. Nothing slips. I don't know about the Line-X (no dealers around), but if you decide on the Rhino you won't be disappointed.

How thick are the spray in bedliners ? I have a drop-in liner now. I got a tonneau cover and a storage bin for the bed. The storage bin sits just a little too high (maybe an inch or 2) because of the bedliner. I'm afraid it will tear through the tonneau cover. I thought maybe a spray in lining will let the box sit lower and not wreck my tonneau...
Opinions ?

I looked at several of my freinds trucks with rhino liners butI had a z-liner from ziebart sprayed in, looks better just the right thickness and I liked the pattern alot better. It is also non-slip. very happy with it. had it taken all the way over the rails so my ARE lid would not be touching the paint. sweet!!!

I have saw a "SuperLiner" with the RAM Logo sprayed into it, locked awesome. Can Line-x do that??

You dont need a bedliner with a logo on it,in fact you dont need a bedliner,just a mat.Most guys dont use their truck beds for anything but a couple of sacks of bachelor groceries anyway.Now me,I use my cargo bed,for big ole rocks,gravel,engine blocks,timber,etc.But for you pansies that just care about looks,dont get a spray-on bedliner,you dont need it.

Yes, Line-X can do the logos, but it might cost a few bucks more. As far as which one to go with, I'd almost say it's so dang close it doesn't really matter (unless you count price). I've had both, and I wouldn't want to have to make the decision. I like the Line-X a bit more because it's 'shinier' *LOL* and that's really the ONLY difference I have seen. I've used the #@@#! out of both and both of them just shrug it off.

Sorry JB - didn't realize a spray-in bedliner is just for you big, tough, burly working men.
I sure most of the guys posting on this site weren't aware that their trucks could look good and be functional. (sorry, was that word too big for you?)

Uh, J.B., the fact that some of the guys wanted a logo in their bedliner doesn't automatically mean they want it ONLY for looks. I got mine because the next day I moved the entire contents of my house using only my Dak and a small U-Haul. And my house wasn't filled with nice bags of groceries. You know what they say about what happens when you assume....
