 Subject: Power Mirror Question

I am in the process of replacing those huge 6"x9" power mirrors on my '98 Dakota and unfortunately I cannot find the wiring diagram for the mirrors to know which wire is ground and which is positive for up/down motor and positive for side/side motor. Wires are light blue / Yellowish Green / and White. The new mirror wires are Red / White / Black. The new mirror is easy to figure out - its the Dakota wiring harness that has me stumped.
Anyone with experience on these that can assist? I am "pretty" sure the light blue is the ground wire (it was the one that was spliced at the factory - so guessing they spliced the ground wire). I can just hook things up and test - but was kinda hoping someone might know more out there than "trial and error".

Simple. Use a test light, that way there will always be a proper circuit through the test bulb.
Clip one end of the light to ground. Insert the probe end into one connector slot on the truck wiring. Operate each command of the mirror until the test light comes on. Write down the wire color and what the switch says it does.
Do the same with each one. Hopefully there will be only one with no power. That should be the ground. Can check it with a meter for continuity. Should be no power in that circuit to check this. One probe in the connector where this wire is, the other probe to ground. Should be continuity ( unbroken path ). Hope this helps.
