I put the Fabtech Lift on my Dak (98 2WD) about a year ago, and just now it started making a really bad squeaking sound. I greased the hell out of the Fabtech arm, but it still wont stop squeaking. Is there anything out there that works to stop squeaking?

Throw some grease between the bolt, washer and bushing on the a-arm. This helps me out for a while. Just an idea...

Are you positive it is the control arm making the squeak? If not, have someone shake the front of the truck up-and-down, and get under it and pinpoint the noise. My front sway bar had been squeaking for quite some time, and I have found the cure (I think). If you spray belt dressing on the riding surface of the bushings and on the bar, it will eliminate the squeak. This may also work on your Fabtech arm, if that is the problem. You will have to take it apart, however, to do it right. Taking the sway bar off and doing this only takes about 45 minutes for one person. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem with my Fabtech Kit. I Still can't figure out if it's the A-Arm or the ball joint! Let me know if you solve your squeak.

It shouldn't be the ball joints. The bushings are usually the guys making all that noise. I loosen the nuts on both sides of the a-arm and squeeze some grease in there along with the zert fittings. Then I retighten the nuts after adding a little locktight and its good to go!

You can also squirt some WD-40 to see if you can pinpoint and stop the noise, then use grease for long term stoppage. Keep in mind that these kits are noisy for the first two months but get better over time (at least from my experience). :-)

The WD-40 idea sounds good to pinpoint the problem. I've only had my kit on now for a couple of months and it just now started squeaking. I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks TallQuad!

My 98 Dakota 2WD started squeaking on the front Passenger side. I had the bushings changed and the squeak stopped for 2 days and then started again gradually getting more annoying until it has gotten to how it was before I changed it and it has only been 23 days. I'l take it back to the mechanic as soon as I get a break to take it down and set it up again. That better work.
