i raced a r/t tonite and it is not stock. i drive a lightly modded 4.7,and i'm glad to say it wasn't a pretty site. i had to have been 3 or 4 trucks ahead of him. this guy in a white fixed up 93 or 94 corvette saw us racing. i made the turn around at the end of the strip that everybody cruises down and the corvette comes on the side of me quick. i was like he is gonna beat my ass, especially from that slow of a roll. i rolled into it so i wouldn't spin and he just punched it. by the time my foot was on the floor i was a truck ahead. i shifted at 5200 and maintained a truck the whole time. afterwards we pulled over and he said he had full exhaust and hypertech programmer. i was so hyped up after that.
to all, 4.7s will continue to kick r/ts ass.

yeah one of my friends has a 96 vette automatic, its not much except for top end. yeah and last night my friend just got his truck back, its a 78 chevy c10 2wd built 406, has 425 rwhp. He started talking crap so I had to shut him up. I let off at 120 and was what I estimated about a 10 car lenght lead not too bad for only having a cam and an intake manifold.

Ok guys here we go again. Sniper, sez that he ran off with a vette, and won. Lets see the 94 vette cupe has a 300hp LT1 motor. the car is around 3230 LBS.
The Dak, on the other hand with it's 4.7 has 230 hp and is up around 4700 LBS. 1500LBS. differance. With 70 hp less = a win???

That is the most far fetched story I have ever heard in my life! I work for Chevrolet and own a 92 Vette w/an automatic and a 94 318 automatic, short bed, reg. cab Dak that has been tweaked. My stock vette would chew up and spit out my Dak!

Hey guys i have a 98 dak with a 2.5 liter 4 banger with a 5 speed, I can smoke all kinds of italian sports cars. I can beat Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Porsche's, and even a Ducatti 996 crotch rocket. This truck runs a 9 second quarter, and has a top speed of 3 hundred miles an hour. God damn dude get a life---The guy in the vette wasn't racing you...dumbass. Go look for a viper or a zo6 have a fukkin blast, but you will know exactly what viper taillights look like. Oh ya....You are a moron.

you guys crack me up. a stock 94 corvette brandnew off the showroom floor didn't run but 14.20s what makes you think after 10 years it still does? i have one frined with a zr1 and he can't even beat a 98 cobra with just exhaust. i also said in my fiest post that my truck is modded. i didn't with what tho. you guys with the vettes and doge trucks, shouldn't you be driving a escalade or something. isn't ya'lls blood alittle too rich for a dodge truck? corvettes are an awesome car for handling that's it!!!!! they will never be worth their price tag.

supossed h.p. cn run high 11's...or even very
very low 12's because the Z06 03' runs mid
12's to high 12's and the viper 03' with 500 h.p.
runs around high 11's ...I dont think your
corvette can do that..( and i maybe wrong)...but
unless you have spray that aint just 405 h.p.

ya forgot ta say at the beginnin of this string that the guy in the Vette WAS NOT RACING and was only just going down to the store to get a quart of milk. Oh yeah the store was just next door. Damm there are so many clowns on here that think just because they are "racing" that the guy next to them must be too, even tho he is not racing and could give a flying crap as to wheather or not you are.

I think they built a 6 banger vette in 54 as well.
From what I have seen at the drag strips in the last 17 years is that alot of vettes run slow in the 1/8th mile and pick up after that. Mostley due to the driver. Late starts, spinning tires etc. I have raced a few vettes at the track and shocked them for the first 1/8 only to get beat at the end.
Considering most light to light street races only last 1/8th mile or less, Its a good chance sniper took the vette. It may be different on a full 1/4 with a better driver in the vette.
I put a whole shot on a 02 z06 this year at the track that he didnt pass me till 1000 ft. I cut a .502 light and ran 15.3 and he cut a pathetic 1.200 light and ran 12.8. All that anyone watching noticed was that I almost beat it. Not that he was sleeping at the light.

Gglarmtec, you forget his truck is 2wd, not 4 so I doubt it weights anywhere close to 4700.
mike, that is a very traction limited 12 second blast. Just slicks on the back would make a world of difference and suspension would make it launch faster.

first of all GGalarmtec there is no way you on a 1996 ZR1 vette. The last year the ZR1 was produced was in 1995. Second the ZR1 was built for top speed not to run in the quarter... Thrid a stock ZR1 will not run in the 12's.... Fourth The new ZO6 vette is the fasest and the quickest production corvette built... Plus the viper holds the record for the quickest quater time for a production car.

Accually the fastest and quickest corvette ever made was the 69 ZL1 427. There may have been only a few ever built,.In some minds that didnt make it as a production car, but any one could have ordered it on the option list. That car ran in the high 10s and run well over 170mph. The L88 vette of the same year would run well into the 11s and even though it was rated at 435 hp, it accually made over 600hp.
TNMOPAR is right on on a couple of things. The last year of the zr1 was 95 and they did not run 11s. Low 13 or high 12s if I remember right.
As far as quickest production 1/4 miles goes, I think the new ford gt has the viper beat. It was tested by car and driver to a 11.6 @ 128. The viper SRT10 ran 12.2 @ 119, and the SRT10 comp. coupe ran 11.7 @ 122. I dont know if you consider a ferrari enzo a production car, but it was tested at 11.1 @ 133.

There was never a v6 in a Corvette period.
Only a flat 6 but that was before Chevy installed the 265 cid V8.
