Okay whenever I stop fast (not slam on the brakes, but still pretty quick) my engine dies. Any ideas? Could it be the transmission? My truck does have 100k miles on it. Thanks.

It's a 1995 5.2L. The only mods I have are gibson headers, straight pipes, 52mm throttle bodie, and a K&N air intake.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread here CrapShoveler, but I also have the same prob. I just bought a 1998 CC 4x4 w/ 5.2L My engine stalls after letting off the accel mostly after going up a hill. The first time it happened, the engine would not start again, but of course after it came off the tow truck at the shop, it started right up, so no diagnosis. The other 2 times, it has started back up if I give it a little accel.

I thought it could be the TPS, but my search here on this forum sends me in many different directions from the TPS, O2, cleaning the TB, Map Sensor, etc.

Anyone have any ideas before I just start replacing misc sensors. Also, no check engine light at all, just stalls out with no warning.

TIA - Andrew

You know, I've noticed cars with power brakes always (at least my 83 Dodge W-150, 88 W-100 and 96 S-10) drop in rpm when the brake is pushed in. Warning: The following is a long shot; The stalling may be due to problems in the brake booster. A rupture in the diaphragm may be causing a momentary vaccum leak. Remember the booster needs engine vacuum to work. Its easy to test the booster.
Also with your mods the engine vaccum may be lower than factory, and the reserve necaasary for the booster to work may not be there.
Just a thought.
