Message: Yeah, I want to put one of these in, too. However, I dont have the skill. Can any transmission shop do this? Recommendations? Any AAMCO or other techs out there have a comment?

Message: NEVER EVER GO TO AAMCO worst place I've ever dealt with. Find a really good shop that does trannys only but not a national franchise. don't use a general shop that says they also do trannys either. Just a local guy that has been in business for years that your Dad or Uncle recommend. if they are like the guys all over Toledo I'll bet you only find one good shop and the rest morons.

Message: I just put the transgo kit in my 99 r/t. I had a local guy I trust install it and he let me help/watch. It took 6-7 hours and we almost had to pull the overdrive unit off to finish the install. It was a real pain in the ass. He charged me 160 for labor, and it took 9 quarts of fluid. Was it worth it............ NO
It will chirp the tires now and is more responsive, but if left in drive it shifts from 2nd to 3rd at 4500 rpm at wot. I'm not real happy about that. We set it up for "race" it dosn't feel as good as a th350 with a 20$ B&M shift kit. Unless I really run it hard, I can't even tell it has a shift kit. Other people will tell you this and that about them but chances are they have never even had one put in.
1st hand advice: save your money for something elese. I wish I did.

Message: I had the transgo shift kit put in my 2001 4x4 QC 5.9, and I think it's the best money I spent so far. I did go pretty aggresive on the setup(the instuctions have different levels of performance)and had to use the resistor suppied in the kit, As I would get a check engine light, and the truck would go into "limp mode" but all in all I would recomend it to anyone that was considering getting one.

Message: Take that back the B&G flash was the best money I spent but shift kit was a close second.

Message: Ok I put a transgo kit on my 98 dakota it rocks! I like the fast & aggresive shift and also extends the life of your bands in the tranny. I also had help from Wayne at APS Precision, he sell the Trans go kit with some of his mods in different stage. his site is http://www.apsprecision.com/
send him a e-mail with a list of mods you did on your truck and futur mods you have plan to do.
good luck

Message: I have one on my 2wd 5.9 Durango and love it chirps tires in second (most of the time). Shift points have to be adjusted with the TV cable after install or your shifts will be in the wrong place like slow r/t man's are. It can be adjusted to shift late or early and in between. You just have to tune it. I know of guy with a Dak that has the "race" setup on his and he loves it. Hope this helps.
