Subject: Duh, Could my dakota beat a Ferrari

Message:
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if my truck could beat a ferrari? I have some pretty good mods on it: Custom intake, a muffler, and some of those lights that go on the valve stems. Please let me know, Thank you

Really, I knew it would be close. The lights are red on the left side and green on the right side. I was thinking about getting one of those fans that go into the intake also. That will definetly put me over the edge.

Slow down young whippersnapper!!! You first
have too harness the power of the LIGHTS
before you can handle the FunnelSlammer.

If you do get the fan make sure you
powdercoat it red or green.

Hope this help!!!

Maybe if you add some stickers, certain ones I've heard are good for a 100 HP at least....

Young grasshopper,
first you must be one with the ground, lower your truck by any means neccesarry including but not limited to cuttin or heating the springs...one must face danger if they are to attain coolness.
Next you must harness the wind, anything that could have been taken off an airplane and attached to the rear of your vehicle will do.
And finally you must stand out as a horspower ninja...primer means speed and the more decals the better...perhaps if you could convince some friends to put the same stickers on their cars you could be a "team"...remember...a group of slow cars equals one fast car!

Before you say "hell no", remember, a 348 Testarossa does the 1/4 in 14.8, and a 308 does it in 16.1. You might wanna ask WHICH Ferrari :)

I say that ya could if your custom intake is topped off with an APC filter and you get rid of the muffler. The louder the vehicle, the faster it is.

'95 Sport 2.5L 5 Speed
Custom air intake, gutted cat, Flow 40 dumped, 2/3 drop
11.792 @ 55.9 mph in the 1/8

'95 Honda del sol VTEC - front strut tower bar
10.65 @ 65 mph

sure you could. Take everything off your dak to make it as light as possible. right down to the frame and engine. Then mount a go-kart seat in it and you should make it close. and maybe a 200 shot of NOS.

Thanks for the input guys, I have already ordered the a big sticker for my front windshield from the local import shop, he said that it would definetly make my car faster. He also suggested, to get a few more horsepower I could paint all the plastic in my truck neon yellow. Anymore suggestions?
By the way, I'm racing a 97 F355 Spider.

Dug up some performance info on the Spider:
Base Price $137,075
¼ Mile 13.7 seconds
Power 374.9 bhp @ 8,250 rpm

With the mods you posted I think you'll do just fine!!!
If you install a FAN shift at 9,200 rpm. He redlined by 8,500 because of the 5 valves per cylinder.

I wouldn't worry about the Spider. With your set up a F40 would be a better match. Odds are once he lays eyes on the stickers he'll back off!

My guess is, 3-4 car lenghts in the ¼ Mile.

Thanks guys, I'm confident now that I can spank him, I'll tell him that he would need an F40 to beat me. I am also getting some new tires from my friend Chung Wang at the imports shop, they are 125/10/14, he said that I would get a lot of traction.

Translation for the above attempt at humor:

Good evening ladies and gentlemen,

In order to be of any assistance to the original poster, you must not neglect a very important detail that tends to easily be overlooked. Aerodynamics are the key to winning the match against any Ferrari vehicle. In order to shave at least 1 second off of an unknown factor, you must first shave the hair off of your scalp.

I hope he was joking when he asked that. worst time I ever had in my dakota (runs high 14's 1/4) was when me and my girlfriend were on our way down to Florida when she was driving. We followed a Farrari for about an hour in West Virginia and then came up to a toll both. We both left at the same time(next to each other) and my girlfriend had the bright idea to get 3 feet away from him and floor it. Thats when I started sloaping down in my seat so he wouldn't see me, but of coarse this little rich bast*rd just smiled on his way by. Passed us like we were sitting still. I wish this story wasn't true but it is. So the answer is NO you will not beat a Farrari in you Dakota, and NO it doesn't matter what kind on Farrari it is. (unless your mods exceed the cost of your truck new)

and Vipers run mid 13's in the 1/4 mile, I beleive a F-360 is a little faster than that. if a Viper blew its doors off the person driving the Farrari must have been 1/2 asleep.

It depends on what model and year of the Ferrari though, but it doesnt matter to me though cuz my truck would spank any Ferrari. I just added neon gauges and a 15" tailpipe to my truck today. I'll be in a magazine soon.
