Subject: Transgo didn't help much.. IP: Logged
Message: Got a Transgo kit installed last week (street/strip mode) and the shifts don't feel all that different than when I adjusted the TV cable. I was expecting WAY firmer shifts! Has anyone else used Transgo and got this outcome and is there anything I can do to firm it up more?
I thought that the "race" mode would have been too much for me but I guess thats the one I needed.
Any suggestions would be great!

Message: im going to say the same thing i was told..
i posted a few months ago saying the SAME thing you did, but after 4 months of driving, i will tell you that you 'learn' to feel the difference..not only is your trans going to last longer and take a harder beating, it will be better to tow with, and its a very good idea to have one if you race...look at almost all the dodges on dragtruk.com and youll see transgo somewhere in their 'mods' list. i love the kit..i wanted tire smoking shifts LOL but the transgo is tight..nice and snappy into gear, and under w.o.t. it REALLY makes a difference slipping into 3rd and O.D....so once you have some mods and get into the 13's @ 95mph+ you will really appreciate it...sorry this is so long, but im really happy with mine, and i think you will end up the same.
good luck

Message: I did mine in between "race" and "street".
I like the shift 1 to 2nd but the 2nd to 3rd I think I should have done the "Race" setting.
When you change you trans fluid next time you can adjust the system pressure up a tad. Use the info that can with the kit, it will tell you what adjustment.

Message: I have the transgo in my 4x4 5.2 and like the above post i wanted tire smoking results but am very satisfied with results. I had it installed with my tranny rebuild with cooler. My line pressure is running 75-80 psi which maybe too much. I say this because when i am on the highway if i get on at say 75-85, instead of going to 3rd it drops to 2! BAD!! That will wake you real quick. I had to learn how to drive it all over again. Makes me think i could never run juice because if it happened while being sprayed some damage would happen to say the least.

Message: Well FastD,if your not on the interstate to much,I have 2 hotrods and my suggestion is if you have 3.92 gears go with 4.10 cause i know by experinse that gears and a shift kit go good together.

Message: I have a B&M #70268 cooler mounted in front of my condenser on my 2002 3.9 RC. I made a mount with some aluminum strap, attached to the dog ears on both sides of the radiator at the bottom, and at the hood latch on the top. Here's a few pics if you're interested...

Message: hey maniac... if its dropping to 2nd from 4th try backing your kickdown cable out a hair. You can fine tune the cable, but it is very sensitive.
You also mentioned a line pressure of 75-80 as being too much. I've heard others that are higher and my Hughes street/strip rebuild came with a dyno card showing 103PSI into each gear. (yes it is very hard shifting)
