Obviously you have no sympathy for the condition of the economy and its effect on the little guy out there trying to do business. Bernd has been more helpful than possibly any other single person on these boards. If you want to understand what poor service really is, find a big company, who isn't affected by the country's economic situation, and get them to make you the part that you needed. Then get them to answer all the questions that you have. Personally I'd rather deal with the little guy, where I know I can talk to someone who knows what they're talking about every time, not some trained monkey reading out of a response book. Finally, you close your short meaningless post with "Go to hell" - which infers that the reader of the post can go to hell. Are you now bashing everyone on these boards? You probly don't even own a dakota - I expect you drive some sort of ricer that no one makes performance parts for, and just want someone to yell at about it. Just because Bernd won't call you back about an IAT adjuster for your yugo, doesn't give you the right to go getting upset at everyone on these boards. So I have a better idea than me going to hell. Why don't you go play under a steam roller.

I wanted an AIT Adjuster and paid for one from SpeedTweaks but they didn't have any although they were still advertising them. After about a month or so I inquired about it and was refunded my money.
Still want one but I am not out my $40.
That's just business.

I used to love speedtweaks because of there helpfulness and attention to customers. But recently they have been getting very bad a customer service. I have been trying at times up to 3 times a week to talk to someone there and no one ever answers! I leave messages and never get a reply. I have questions for them and it seems like ever since they finished the turbo dakota they arent interested in talking to anyone anymore.
I am not going with Speedtweaks SUCKS! But they could be alot better dealing with people who call and except a call in-return. I am also tired of always getting a answering machine. I dont think just becasue they are a small company does'nt mean that they cant answer the phone. Many other small businesses have people to answer phones. Even Marty at KRC has an assistant.
Bernd or Tom if you are reading this I am not trying to smack you or put you guys down, I am just trying to show my support for you guys and would like a little more help in the future.

I wouldn't want to slam them either. I feel if you're going to advertize though, you need to be able to take orders in a timely fashion, and get those orders out the door. That's what keeps the MASSES coming back for more.
Bernd and Tom have both been very helpful to me in the past over the phone. I got a little ticked when my Paxton order fell through the floor, but no fault of theirs, it was Paxton who dropped the ball there.
I think they just grew too fast over night, and have been overwhelmed since then. Not only do they have to keep up with their locals, but with us on the net.
If you are looking to get your part in a hurry, and you're leary of their time constraints, call somebody else.
Bernd & Tom.... Since a lot of your orders are direct ship items, you could hire someone to take orders over the net. They could do it from their home office. Reply to availibility, Customer service, etc.... They would have to have access to your web-site and vendors... Report to you on a daily/weekly basis. Do monthly reports on all sales, and maintain. Their salaries would be a deductible for you, (freelance) etc......You could set up the persons availibility to place orders for you, and collect for you...Notify vendors and paypal or whoever you're using now of this persons status and allow certain access. Of course making sure all monies made it to Speedtweaks, and not the pockets of your new assistant.
Something to think about. That would cover internet sales... Then get an assistant to answer phones at the Shop... I'm sure plenty of young knowledgable fellows would enjoy a job in a "performance shop".
Hell if I lived in Texas, I'd probably eat Roman noodles everyday, drive a Pinto, and work at your shop for free. It's always been a dream of mine to open up a performance shop...Now get those assistants so the business can keep on growing, and when you get ready to open up your next location, look me up in Augusta GA.. I'll be the shop manager....

Well I don't know if I would go that far Jack, though I have noticed that they have been getting either overwhelmed or lazy. I returned an order over six months ago, worth was in the hundreds, nothing so far as far a return or exchange. Now this is a problem! They don't suck, but I sure have dropped emails and calls, none of which have been returned! I sure would like to see my money, and remind them on how much we enjoy their store and products, and would hate to see them go the way of some the unethical business corporations we have come to despise these days. The customer matters!

I think a class action law suit should be constituted against the poor business ethics of speedtweaks!! Taking customers money on a "trust" that their product will be delivered is obviously running too great a risk for us consumers. I find it ironic that speedtweaks is expanding, or encompasing more products like ford and GM, yet is losing consumer confidence as made apparant by the above posts. I would like a reply by speedtweaks, seeing how there are many who are very interested in finding out what is going on!

At least you know what libel is. When I referred to speedtweeks as disreputable some months ago, the speedtweeks defenders accused me of slander. Of course since everything was true, it was neither. Some of you may be overprotective of your darling speedtweeks, perhaps because few businesses cater to Dakotas. Wake up and smell the coffee !

yeah speedtweaks does suck or should i say they dont know how to run business. An important thing to notice that speedtweaks is a L.L.C. a limited liability company which basically means if the business goes down then the owner only looses what hes invested, and if they've recived $20,000 in orders (unfufilled) and they do down, they would prolly have to pay creditors, and the bank before the customers, the customers might not even get thier money back. yeah speedtweaks was cool, untill they devoted all they're time to a ricer a$$ turbo for dakotas. I wonder who owns the "volunteer" R/T for the head gasket destroying TT project. I would be very disapointed if i were him. And honestly when everyone first heard about a store and internet business that specialized in dakota performance did you really think they would last? HA! speedtweaks gets many thumbs down in my book.

i dont know if bernd wants me to post this but i am gonna defend him not because i am a dakota owner or a member to this sight but because i am his friend and have purchased items from him and have been to Speedtweaks a couple of times and seen his operation. The IAT was discontinued because the manufacture tried to screw bernd up the butt by making the product with cheaper parts that would break, fade, and fall apart in less than a month (bernd tested one), BUT while keeping the same cost. Bernd told them to go to hell and didnt want to run his business like that. So ya'll can say what you want to say or type what you want to type...
from what i have seen most of the people complaining cant even type their real name or email address. Thats probably why bernd ignores most of these posts. Another... a lot of the complaints seem to be either related to back when bernd moved into his shop, the iat adjuster, or something through paypal. You people need to check out his website for "notes to our customers"... that would probably solve half of these issues. Another think.... his phone/dsl line was down for over a week.... imagine all the emails he gets in a day... then in a week.... then add those to the ones he is getting now. Kinda hard to keep up with those things... especially when he also gets customers inside his store and has people's rides to work on. Think about this... what brings bernd more money, answering a phone call and have the customer ask all these questions about products and never buy them or the guy at the door that wants bernd to install a lowering kit on his truck. When i was down there i noticed one thing... HALF OF BERNDS BUSINESS DOESNT EVEN GIVE HIM BUSINESS, they just ask questions but bernd spends the time to asnwer all that he can... hell i know that i bug him off and on but he keeps a good attitude.
and for all of you who think that you buying a throttle body is most important thing in the world go read bernds response in:

so bernd doesnt have a big business like summit racing with 25 people waiting for your phone call and 50 more working in packaging and shipping... so you say "HIRE SOMEONE ELSE"... guess what... when only so many people actually order stuff from him... he cant afford new help! If he hired help he would have to RAISE his prices on his products... I am sure that he gets most of his money just in labor. but that is non of my business...
i know that i can go all night about this crap but i gotto go to work now... i do expect flames from people but thats what i should expect from people that post this SHlT...
man i had more maturity when i was 15 than half of the people on this board that are twice my age now....

I have no axe to grind with Speedtweaks, either for or against them. I've never done business with them. I came very close to ordering my headers from them, but, because I'd grown extremely leery of their business practices due to a seemingly increasing number of negative comments, I opted to order from another vendor for $21 more, and received my shipment in 4 days. If all of these posts are an indication of the way things really are, I guess that I can count myself lucky.
I'm troubled that Bernd hasn't responded to this thread...I get the impression that he normally followed these forums pretty closely, and he has been pretty quick to jump in and offer advice, most of it helpful. I've never seen him jump down someone's throat or even curse online. I don't know what trouble he might be in, but I hate to see someone's dream get dashed, and I hope that he can recover and do what's right, whatever the problem is.

Perhaps because these are true is why he is opting to plead the 5th on this one. As consumers it is our duty to let others aware of our personal experiances with this company. Mr. intensedak93, there is no need to resort and lower your civility in offering your opinion in your post, you speak of maturity, and obviously personify it quite well in your last paragraph. We (consumers) are our own best defense against these types of negative business through the stating of our personal experiances with this company. I honestly wish they were more reputable, but sooner or later they should know that this would surface.

Hmmmm... More mud flying around here than at a swamp buggy race. I have never ordered anything from Speedtweaks just because I prefer to fabricate most of my add-ons myself. I have however called Bernd regarding questions about the IAT adjuster, and custom mounting recommendations. Yes it has been some time ago when i did but he was, in my opinion both curtious and patient. I do hope that these things are not true because it is so hard for a small business to get a descent start these days. and these types of reviews do not contribute very well to that new growth. As you may have noticed I am not a member so there is 1 more "non member" who thinks speedtweaks is ok. By the way if it turns out this is a ficticious web of lies spun together by some upstart 16 year old V-Tec honda Civic owner...Be warned. You may well find a Dakota parked atop that POS one morning.
