Find a quality (?is there such a thing?) muffler shop and have them fabricate a 3" cat-back for you with a good low-backpressure muffler. Mine was done for $230, installed with heavy walled coated piping. Sounds nice and nasty. Prices will vary, duh, but I was looking at a lot more money for just the materials before shipping from most parts houses,...D

I bought a cat-back system for about 400. Waste of $$$ ! I got the exact same pipes that were on the truck already along with the muffler. Coulda just " cut in " a free flowing muffler for way cheaper. Something to think about.

Remember, the trick is to increase the exhaust pipe size to allow better airflow, but don't oversize it too much-you might loose some low end torque. 3" seems to be a good compromise...D

Mufflers like Dynomaxx, Magnaflow and MBRP are kind of loud when you romp on the gas but quiet back down at steady speeds.

Flowmaster and other chamber mufflers are loud all the time.

Gibson is not that loud.

I just got a magnaflow put on and it is real nice, loud when you want it loud and quiet the rest of the time.
