Does the US think we can't handle powerful engines? Check out what Ford gives the overseas people! Not that I like Ford, but check it out.

http://www.autoweb.com.au/newcars.html?src=navbar&id=FOR

They have a (TL50)Car 5.6L that makes 250kw 500Nm, Isn't that around 340hp?
Also there WRX makes 280hp Vs our 227hp limp engine.

Whats up with that? We love our Trucks and Cars! And we Love HP! Nope we get Automatics, Water down engines & cup holders :)

Umm.. I hate to say it but that car isn't in the same class as the WRX. No lets say it was a ugly Focus w/ a 5.6 in it .. then I could understand why everyone is upset. Also .. look @ the price $80,000 just abit steep. The Impreza on that site is @ $25,000. If you have that kind of $$ to burn you should get a Focus & a 5.6 Hemi ...... BAM!! there's a little fast ford car ;-)

If you are talking about regular WRXs then the US model is more powerful then the British model but the bits get 17" wheels from the factory. The 280 hp WRX is the STi model which gets a ton of stuff the regualr WRX doesn't have. Like driver adjustible varible center differential torque split, a six speed manual, better feul injection system, water injectors to cool the intercoller, HID lighting, 17" forged wheels, and too many internal motor mods to even remember. Needless to say if it comes to the US as a clone to the Japan version STi, it will add over $10,000 to the price of a WRX easy. My guess the STi people are talking about getting here will be more like the standard WRX japan gets with 17" wheels, more agressive tune, a pink STi badge, the varible feul injection (as it improves emissions and economy), and an extra $4995 price tag.
