rascal if it was only that easy i would of already done it. some need the gas mileage. but mike i have an intake, flowmaster muffler with custom dual rear exit, 180 t-stat, jet stage II chip and a few more small things. the jet chip increased power greatly, would highly recomend it, although i heard they arent so hot on the bigger engines. but mine works great. as toxic13 said try krcperformance.com, i live in orlando so his shop is right near me, i have talked to him and he can do alot, such as ported throttle bodies, custom cams, 1.7roller rockers, and more.
if you have any questions email me
later
steve

It is just so expensive to get a LOT more performance from a 4 banger, I feel your pain.
Good luck...(wasn't trying to bum you out).

Hey Mike,

Well, I've heard people getting a V6 to run as fast as a stock V8, but i've never heard of anyone getting a 4 Cyl running at a v6 level.

Umm, Maybe new headers? You said a flowmaster exhaust - does that include the headers or just the muffler? or a jet chip? I would suggest a Jacobs or MSD ignition system but the perforamnce gains aren't supposed to be noticable since your engine is already computer controlled, but i'm not sure.

I hope i helped a little.

Donald

hey,
Go for a turbo charger, new pistons and a
nitrous kit. Youll have to go custom but a t04
garrett kit might work if tailored right. I dont
know a whole lot about he 4's but i know
some about mitsu 4 bangers and those mods
will really wake it up.

TURBO CHARGE IT!!! That is the only way to go!! I'd go with a Garret T3 %) to 60 mm trim, .48 to .60 housing. for turbine I'd go with a T25, 68 to 79 trim. This would be good for 150-250 hp, peaking in the 2000-3000 rpm range. Go to turbonetics.com. The site is filled with info. Or try to get a turbo made for a neon. That might work. I'm wanting to get a Super 16g mitsubishi stage 2 turbo for my 4.7 liter.
