WAIT! He may be right!

Let's see.......

Dakota is hands-down the best looking truck available. Toyota? Well..... pretty much gets uglier with every update (my opinion).

A loaded 4.7 CC.... $19,000.
A loaded 4.7 Tundra "extra-cab".... $25,000 (yes, I did extensive research before I bought my Dak).

Dak... available 5.9 pushrod "maxi-torque" V-8.
Toyota? Hmmm......

Mid size? So what happened to the T-100 (otherwise known as the Toyota F-150)?

Yeah... everyone has their preferences, but we DAK enthusiasts aren't going onto TOY posting pages and talking S&^t.....

Are we?

Ha! The fact that you come onto a Dakota board and post that just shows the maturity level of the average TeRD driver. First of all, the Toyota that was meant to be in the same class as the Dakota died out because it was ugly and underpowered. The compacts are too small and the best they can do for power is a v6. Then they try and make a full size? If I wanted a full size pickup it sure wouldn't be from a company who has made the 4x4 of choice for the spoiled rich high school punks who wouldn't know how to handle real horsepower. If I wanted a full size truck I would choose a company that knows how to make work trucks. Dodge, Ford, Chevy and GMC. Call me crazy, but I'd rather have a real engine under the hood when pulling a trailer full of quads and bikes up the mountains, and not have to worry whether or not the squirrel has enough food and water.

Lately I've been wondering just what SR5 stands for on every kind of Toyota made. I finally found it on a Toyota site. According to them it is:

"SR5 stands for Sport Ralley 5 Speed. This is simply an upgrade trim package that was available similar to a Ford Lariat or a Chevy Silverado. Earlier model trucks had bucket seats, additional gauges/tach, stripes, carpet floors, and cloth interior. Later model trucks, although still SR5s, may have come with automatic transmissions. SR5 models do not necessarily come with air, tilt, chrome trim, power steering, or sun roof. Trucks with the SR5 package can usually be identified by finding an 'S' in the VIN code."

I will be wary of any Corolla SR5s that I see from now on for sure. Wow I'd sure like to have a 22R powered Sr5 truck instead of my honkin' V-8 Dakota! I wonder what else it could stand for? Can't find any Blowyota UBBs. Does anyone know of any that we can check out?

As someone who is an avid bicyclist, I get to see all kinds of vehicles and the drivers of them. Hands down the biggest d**weeds are Toyota Pick ups. Particularly the 4X4s. I find they are rude, always try to run bikes off the rode and are plain idiots. The only ones worse are BMWs and MBs.

Whats my point? Look at the first post, typical Toyota driver.

And to think that I did look at a Tacoma and T100 when I was looking to purchase a truck (back in 1997). I leaned up against the door on the Toyota's and just about freaked out the salesman when they caved in.

I'll stick to my American Steel Doors on the Dakota. (Very useful when running over pepsi-can "toys".)

You said ANYTIME and ANYWHERE so I'll be looking. I've got a yellow R/T so it will be easy to spot. I'll just assume that Tacoma next to me is you (there almost alway is one). On the green we go to say 65 MPH (the speed limit by the way). So I'll post here tomorrow on the results you moron.

Wow, TOYFLUSHER must have a TRD sticker on his ride. Maybe a chrome Akimoto intake. Maybe even the TRD blower. That last one may put him ahead of a 3.9 NA Dakota, but the imature bravado exhibited by the fellow leads me to believe that he has no intercooler - and is thus full of hot air. No times, no kill stories, just the usual ricer "my ride is so bad you don't stand a chance" drivel. Yawn. Wake me up when someone posts an interesting response. ;^)

He's probably got a type-R sticker. That adds 10 horsepower to a toyota, you know. Plus, I'll bet he has the aerodynamic yellow stripe. That's good for at least .5 seconds off of his quarter mile time.

At least our daks are available with a v8 which makes them a great choice to make into a fast street truck. Man do I hate Toyotas!!!!!

Here's how it went down. I'm sitting at the light at 7:15 waiting and up pulls this truck. I din't catch the front badge so I can't tell if it's a Toyota, Mazda, Ford, Izuzu, Chevy, Kia, Dawaoo, Yada, Yugo or whatever because they all look the same. Then I notice the TuRD sticker on the side, so I figure this is the guy! I was trying to detect a little extra rumble from his exhause or maybe that slight wine of a supercharger but he has his Backstreet Boys tape going at full volume, so that will forever be a mystery. At frist I din't think he wanted to race but then he starts gunning hi motor lowers his sunglasses and winks. The chick besides him gets all froggy in the seat and starts strappin on a.... helmet. So I figure man is this guy a pro! At the green we go and my Dakota is so quicly ahead I can see them in the rear veiw mirror before reaching 40 MPH. I then notice the car behind him upset at how slow he is getting back up to the speed limit, has changed lanes and is passing him as well. A ways down the road I pull off and notice the car that passed the guy was a Dodge Caravan, hell even Iacocca's best can shut down a Tacoma!

While I like the build quality and durabilty of Toyota products I bought a Quad Cab. First the Toyota dealer in my area would not haggel over price. He flat out told me that they are sealing like hot cakes so I am not negoitateing over price. Second they would not give me very good finacing rates. For me it was worth it to take a chance on DC's product for $5000.00 less then sticker and finaceing that was half what anybody else offered. So far I like the drive train but hate the fit, finish. My Dak's paint is not very good and their were interior trim pieces that that were not installled correctly. I expect this truck to last 300,000 like all of my Toyota's. This is how I will judge this Dodge. Heck it is not even an american truck anymore. It is a German truck produced here in the USA.

4X4 adds a lot of weight, are you talking about 2x4?????
