Message: it will help with rough idling issues. it is not hard to do but, you have to be careful not to push/pull or twist the little plunger. and don't lose the oring. just spray it with some carb cleaner and wipe it gently. you might as weel remove the whole TB and clean it out too.

Message: forgot to add that you can buy the universal O2s if you want to save some money. but personally i wouldn't skimp here. buy the OEM replacements.

Message: The universal O2 sensor doesn't skimp on quality. It's cheaper than the OEM because, as they say, there's "some assembly required". They can be assembled to fit multiple requirements. I'd go for the OEM too. Just tighten it and plug in...worth the extra bucks to me.

you will trip the CEL. you can't just take the downstream O2's out and not replace them with something. there are people out there that make O2 simulators but i'd just leave everything in there unless this truck is strictly offroad.
gen1, i'm glad you clarified that for Gopher. i didn't mean it to sound like i thought the universal O2 was lesser quality than the OEM just that you would have to install the original connector on the new O2. which menas you'd need a good solder job and watertight covering on the splice. it can be easily done if you know how and have the tools but, why bother with it?

Message: No, I plan to leave all O2s in, replace the first 2 leave the back 2, and remove the cats so as to reduce the chances of starting fires in my pasture mhen I am working cattle. Is there a problem with that that could hurt mpgs?

Message: That stinks but I can fix the CEL light prob with one of those plug in tuner things right? We have had too many fires around here coused by cats.

Message: you can turn it off when one of those tuners but it will come right back on. only 3 ways to do it. leave the cats in, find someone making an O2 simulator to plug in instead of the O2s or disable the light from the dash.
you really won't get any more performance out of removing the cats either.
