i found a monster banks exhaust system for the 4.7 Ram.....could this fit the dakota??

has anyone heard about this? banks would be pretty tight with an intake and HO cams lol

My Buddy's and I have had some problems lately with the Flowmasters... 4 of my friends have had "New" Flowmaster exhausts put on their vehicles of all different makes in the last 3 or 4 years and all of them including mine died prematurely... My buddy on his former 04 Ranger Fx4II... less than 25k miles on the muffler before it went... I got 60k on mine before it went... My friend on his 67 Plymouth Belvedere, 50k miles... My other friend... 86 Mustang 5.0 Supercharged built by Bischoff Racing motors died in less than 40k miles... I used to be a fan of Flowmaster... but I would just recommend spending the extra money and getting one that will last... As a side note... I know Gibsons exhaust has a really good warrenty on it and Borla has a million mile warranty on theirs... and Banks does have a good warranty as well... Sometimes you guys just have to learn that it's better to spend a little more than everyone else "ONCE"then have to keep buying new exhaust over and over and over again... And my father has a banks monster exhaust on his Cummins... yeah it cost a little more... but he hasn't changed exhaust in over 325k miles and counting... it's outlasted the tranny... So don't knock Banks too too much... they know what the hell they are doing around Trucks... "Project Sidewinder" for example...

you will prolly get flamed best case scenario, worst case, banned

the big hoss bundle for my truck, gives you like 150-200 hp, it runs about $3500
a tst Powermax and a Smarty will get you over 300hp
and at about 1/3 the cost

Once again Super bee I'm speaking about my own knowledge with freaking BANKS!!! Not some penny pushers... Sometimes price isn't everything... You have to take into account the bigger picture... The lifespan of a product.. the warranty that the product has (including factory warrantys too)...more importantly I think is what the product does to the lifespan of the Vehicle you are putting it on... Say what you want Super Bee... But I have friends with Banks on Cummins, Powerstrokes, and Duramaxs... If they are getting flamed when someone says something good about it... it's prolly someone who didn't have the money to buy it anyway... who got really sour at the price that it is... BTW for the guy that originally posted on here... Just get into contact with Banks... We had great service... send em an email and they'll reply in 24 hrs... And Super Bee any morea arguments about it just send it to my email... farmboy2786@hotmail.com...

Federal law prohibits a manufacturer to void your warranty based on an after market part. Now, if they can PROVE that the part in question caused the damage, they are allowed to void your warranty.

and the warranty of the product varies with all diesel power products, from lifetime to a 2 year to no warranty
My Edge Juice w/ attitude came with a 2 year Warranty

and I know multiple people on different message boards that HAD banks and ditched it when they drove somebody else's truck that had MORE power and spent LESS money

however regarding the original question, I do hear good things about the banks monster exhaust systems

I wasn't trying to hide anything, I just wanted to keep any flame off of the site, I was trying to be clean for everyone, But anyways... In quite a few of your warrantys that you have stock from Dodge they Specifically say that any alteration to the stock will Create the warranty Null and Void... Your statement is true unless they already have said previously which they do right in the fine print... But it's pretty easy that a lot of performance parts that add big power will also take away the longevity of your vehicle, making it that much easier for a company to black-ball a person when they have a problem... The other thing is that with a lot of the newer Diesels anymore almost any tune up can just be the use of a labtop... Banks just offers an easy package with an easy warranty for a price that should be expected with a product of higher quality... So it's just simple add-ons they put on... I mean I have a friend with a Duramax that can put out all the way up to 1356hp at the Rear Wheels, granted he wrote his own computer program to get that power that he wanted but like anything else, someone just needs to get out and sample some different products and get several opinions to allow the best choice to be made... But like I said in an earlier post, just e-mail banks and they will answer yuour questions you have.. I was very impressed with their service...

1356 tq is very very believable

last i know the big gun performance parts manufacturers were not even able to get much over 1000hp
your beloved banks engines do not even come close to that
the sidewinder was at like 800 on the cummins
and they are saying jsut over 1000 hp on the d-max type D

there are some cummins powered sled pullers pushing over 1500 hp, some estimated at 1800 hp, but there is almost NOTHING stock about them, maybe the engine block

so please, enlighten me, what does it take to get 1300 hp at the rear wheels, and how does he know its 1300? not many dynos will even read that high

Well... It's a truck puller as well... I kid you not though... He's a super genius with computers... his whole truck is wired up to his labtop... Now of course he has some work done to it but the fact is... it is still his daily driver... he pulled into the pull putting out a little over 400 hp... With a few programs accessed on his labtop... Boost increased... timing adjusted... more fuel...Added Propeyne... See the thing with diesels... is well... if someone has the money and know how... Then its easy so long as they know the right people... BTW... That truck won the pull that day... Fact of the matter is "ANY" Vehicle can get built up and become one bad mother... It's just a question of how much money someone is willing to spend on a vehicle to make it better... And I guess if your working with some 15 to 20 year old tech. Then yeh.. it rarely goes over 600-800 hp... But when you have "Bischoff Racing Motors"... Which if you don't know is rated #1 Mustang 302 Builder in the U.S. Whose Engines won in every drag class they where in... Mods, Super, Street, Tractor Pulls, Lawnmower Pulls... Oh yeah... and they build racing engines for Nascar and Indy... (Little Side note...10k-60K + an engine)...Guess what... That guy's Dino goes WELL over 1000hp... But hey... what do I know... I mean... I must nut over anything with Banks on it right? When are you gonna realize Super Bee that I like Banks because they have nice pre-done packages out there... Little real work needed... But if someone has the money and right friends... then anything is able to be done with just about any vehicle... Even on Duramax's... which for the record I'm not a fan of... And 1300+hp... Well lets see... Blue Printed Engine... Custom Intake, Custom Intercooler system, Propeyne Injection... Bigger injectors, Higher pressure fuel, all forged internals... new turbo... adjustable boost... free flow exhaust... oh... and it was a strengthened "Stock Block"... I didnt nut over it too too long after all... I am a Dodge and Cummins fan... But diesels are easy to build up... and that last a lot longer than gas...

a completely rebuilt and blueprinted race engine is not a common item
id like to see the entire list of whats done, it sounds pretty interesting

and im, still not a banks fan
i saw an add today in my diesel power mag for a Big hoss bundle
~$3500-$4000
and it added OMG 146 hP!!!!!!!!!
you can get chevy programs alone that will add almost 300 hp
let alone what you can do with EFI live
people buy deisels for easy and cheap performance
if they wanted 150 hp for $4k you could have bought a gas engine

I am going to call bullsh!t on this. People are so gullible these days. My truck whistles (I do not know why) and a lot of people in town swear up and down it has a turbo. People these days are so easily convinced.

I'd have to agree with Shoe. Since diesels aren't known for hp but for torque, I wonder how much torque he's putting out. I don't recall Biersly stating the torque number, probably because it doesn't exist.

People are very gullible.

I'm putting a turbo on my truck right now, it's supposed to make 5 million hp @ 10 million RPM.

Actually I'm hoping for 375 hp @ the crank. In reality it will probably be only 350. But we'll keep our fingers crossed.
