Dude, my HEAVY A$$ 4X4 4.7 beat a RC 2WD 4.8 not by much but it did. And your truck beat me by about a full second being a 2WD and all. Your truck would have killed that 4.8 I raced.

I've been working my brains out. Pulled a few 23 hr days recently working in my lab during the day and out in the field all night. Its crazy.
You been to the track lately?
You've probably posted it already but did the gears help your time?
I'm working on getting some new rims and tires. Not for show, but because I can't floor my truck until I hit 20 mph or I just keep peeling out not going anywhere.
I really need LSD but am afraid of the install.

Dodge copied the chevy smallblock ? With it's long rod design contributing to better cylinder wear, and fatter lifter design leading to better cam wear - I think not...
318 was designed by Chrysler Corp.

Tired No.1, Yup it's a 16 sec truck.
A 16 second QC 4X4
Just a hair quicker than a Chevy RC 2WD when both were stock. And a few tenths slower than a Hemi Ram. Never said my ruck is a race truck LOL!!! I rarely take it to the track. Only every once in a while if I want to see where it is after some mods and want to run some other near stock trucks.
1hotkadota, I haven't gone lately.
If you read the thread about Rammer's truck that ran pretty good but got blown up, that is what we had been working on mostly. Now it's his Mustang so he has something to drive.
I've got to get doing somehting to get my Duster together too.
Lately I have been working on my ATV. I put a small turbo on that and made home brew EFI for it. It's kinda cool even if it doesn't turn out wicked fast, I'm learning a lot of programming to make it go.

Graphite- I originally logged on as Tired. Someone sniped the name to make pro-chevy comments. So I logged on as Tired No.1 and came back to find another pro-Chevy post under that name. Two main items. First- the sniper likes to use fowl words alot. Second- there is NOTHING good about chevys.... If they are in a post-Its not me. (Talk to RT- he likes chevys and talking trash.)

Turbo ATV is an awesome idea! Are you going to turbo the Duster too?
I think putting the modern 4.7 in the old Duster is cool. I have to see it run when you go to the track. Hey, maybe I could race you, at least I wouldn't mind losing to another 4.7.

How can you possibly say there is nothing good about Chevy's why are Ford hotrods and Jeeps using there motors. Funny I know Jeep guys pull the old weak Dodge motor out an replace it with a Chevy. You can be brand loyal all you want but the Small Block Chevy Design is legendary ask any semi educated man. Here is a better question why don't you prove how in it's history Dodge has been better than Chevy.

Chevys are like mullets-every redneck has one. As for engine swaps- its the lazy mans answer. In the beginning of hotrods, the chevy fit easyer in the original chassie because of the rear sump pan. today with custom chassies. and the faat that 5.0 have rears sump pans sense 80'- many rodders are using fords. And to be diff., many are building old dodges. Same for old jeeps- easyer to put a short chevy into the short early chassies. with the longer wheelbase newer ones its just a lazy bad habit. Any "semi educted" man would want to be differant enough to NEVER use a boring Chevy. GM has dumped more trash on the public (350 diesel), and yet loyal lapdogs still brag on them. Very sad...

Richard - if you bothered to look at my info 4 posts above your post to this thread, you'd see I've already shown how Mopar is better than Chevy. These are facts that you can look up if you'd like, compare the engine specs for yourself. It's cheaper to build a Chevy since they're so many of them; but they are widely considered disposable and not the best design. They don't even use the best firing order for their design, many hot rodders will use a different cam that allows them to change the firing order. For another example of how Mopar is better than Chevy, look at the 426 hemi - NASCAR outlawed this engine as Ford and Chevy were not able to compete against it. The examples throughout history are numerous.
