You mean No-tune 4.8.. Ever notice how the R/T people just do not like 4.7s. They even side with chevys over the 7s.

well if i had to choose over another R/T vs 4.7 5spd vs 4.8 5spd i would take the chevy. just because the way they respond to heads and cam and all other bolt ons. you should check out streetfire.net or dragtruck and see the fast silverados out there. but then theres the lightning that can go in the 11's fairly easy.

if the 4.7 dakota beats the 5.2 dakota and the 5.2 dakota beats the 5.3 chevy and the 5.3 has more power than the 4.8 than what makes you think the 4.8 chevy stands a chance against the 4.7?mmm

i even raced a 5.3 chevy with a 4.6L v8 ford explorer and walked away from the thing.

nice looking truck 2002 R/T

actually the 3.8/5.3 respond way better to bolt ons than 4.7/5.2/5,9 heads and cam on the magnum motors barely make around 320 at the wheels. iv seen lots of 5.3's with heads and came push around 370 at the wheels

i believe most motors respond very well to a good rebuild by someone
who knows what they are doing

look at Larry from J & J auto, hes got a V6 3.9 i tell you...
putting down 309 hp at the wheels
imagine if that puppy had 2 more cylinders

now tell me mopars dont respond as well as chevys with performance parts...

why give chevy props here, we dont wanna hear that ---youre on dodge dakota
board and your truck is quick
bragg and talk about your truck instead man!

Ok 239vs287..

Just depends on the modle of the truck.. I'll take a 239 if its a pre 97.. However, I'll exept the 4.7V6 only if I had a 5 or 6 speed manuel.

STS - I can't understand most of what you're trying to say there - but you couldn't choose the 4.7 pre '97 anyway. It wasn't offered in a Dak until '00 !

My dak runs 13.1 all motor. The kid across the street has a LX 5.0 pony and runs 12.9. He has $3000.00 in his whole car. Sounds like the kid has the last lol plus the best bang for the buck.

I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota RC V6 5-speed and I can outrun full-size Chevys. They are not that fast. So I am sure that if I can outrun one, than the V8s should have no problem handling one.
