Subject: V8 Badges Fell Off 2001 IP: Logged
Message: It took me a couple of days to realize that my 2001 club cab has no V8 badge on the front fenders. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? It seems that none of the 2001 dakotas have engine badges on the fenders. I guess it's a feature new to the 2001. I know badges do nothing for performance but I paid extra for the V8 and I liked the badges. I think I'll order some 2000 V8 Badges and stick em on!

Message: For the QCs, the Quad Cab badges also fell off, same with the underhood light and console light.
Some 2001 gauges also lost the numeric values, just have stinking lines...losing all this stuff promotes less weight, beter performance (wink wink nudge nudge)

Message: Losing all that stuff also promotes more dollars into DC's bank accounts. I don't believe there was a price decrease between 2000 and 2001, so let's examine Dodge's apparent logic: less equipment=higher prices. If that's true, then the inverse should also be true: more equipment=lower prices. Following that logic, you should be able to buy a stripped 2002 Dakota for about $28,000 while a loaded one should come in at around $13,500.
