Subject: Videos of my 4.56 LSD results!

Message:
Here are some videos I just made. I could NOT wait.
Went down the street form my house with the video camera. Held it with one hand. Let the truck shift ON IT'S OWN for these. Shifted at just over 5500 RPM's. I can get 6500 if I were to do it manually.

Here's the videos. In REAL PLAYER format.

Tears a$$ and barks the PI$$ out of the tires (5-45RFE auto).
The SuperChips programmer is what tightened the shifts. 10 minutes to program and that's how it has shifted. It has barked them slightly with the 3.55 open rear. Now it's all out CRAZY :)

Burning BOTH tires from a dead stop - Then barking them tires!
I stopped. Punched it from a dead stop. It spun them rear wheels crazy. I did NOT power brake it.

The 4.7 with some mods has some balls I'll say that.

Tires are 255-65 16's (29" tall)
More aggressive (wider too) than stock.

I only waited a damn year to get these gears. I still have to install the front gears. But I'll do that in a week or so...

I know. It would bind up so bad, it probaboy would not disengage!

Gears to go in the front when I get more time.

As it is, it's THIRSDAY now and I need to get the air bags on and the toy hauler packed for leaving town on Friday!

I still need to go drive the truck more tomorrow BEFORE I tow Friday.

aren't you suppose to let the posi brake in or is that just part of the braking in processes. hehe

the truck stay right in the powerband and i think the 1/4 time will be 15.87 at 91mph, just a guess?

Break in period for gears or differential is about a mile and thats just so the oil can slosh around a bit.

BTW thats awesome GraphiteDak, glad to hear everything worked out ok for you. 4.56 will do the tricka dn I can feel 15s easy from those vids. : ) Now lets see how much you can burn them with 4.56s in 4wd? hehehe

You serious about the ONE MILE break in Mike??? LOL!

I know some people really baby stuff. But think of this. You think the NEW cars on the lot are broke in before ppl drive them hard? No way!

I still plan on doing a more steady drive tonight and recheck a few things so I feel safe towing Friday night. It's a 200+ mile trip each way!

are you still making power at 6500rpm?

the truck chirp the tires going into 2 gear thats awesome.

my truck used to keep burning them going into 2nd gear but with the new tires being a foot wide i can only burn them go through 1st.

LSDless, that will change someday?

No. Power drops immediately at 6200
Still 1,000 more than most 5.2/5.9 engines do.

KRC has a 4.7 build up. Over 400 HP at 6800 RPM's all motor :p

In the videos, it was shifting on it's own. About 5800 or so I would think. I think the RPM's climb too fast to really see where it is shifting :)

All I can say is my stiffy got a little stiffer when I test drove it last night!

Two nights. After work each night.

Half of the time was running around picking up a bearing at this store, bearing at another store. Etc...

Advise is to order the full kit!

I towed the trailer to the store and back. It tows about as strong as the 12 foot open trailer. So it MUST have made a difference.

Funny thing is it's not noticable unless you pay attention that it runs through the gears quicker. On normal throttle cruising it is just as quiet. Runs fairly low R's in town still. The wife couldn't really tell the difference when I was just cruising.

Motors and gears are a little different when it comes oto break in. My friend Jeremy and I both had our gears done and the guy said you could get on it after a mile or so......there really is no break in period and I romped on it after a mile or so and been doing that ever since and had no problems for about a year now.

But yah I guess you need the front gears for a 4wd launch...i can feel al 4 tires burning now............hehe LOL

Maybe NEXT week I'll go to the track?
Hoping for high 15's. Hey. It's 5,000 Lbs :p

if you can get some video of you at the truck that would be awesome! i think that 4.7 puts out more power than dodge says. my sister's ram with the 4.7 ran really strong and could burn them from a stand still.

Maybe the WIDER power band has soemthing to do with it. And it's NOT just all top end like you would think. It's got tire shredding torque!

Copy and paste. Looks like the HTML is off, due to some a-hole causing trouble with it :(

The 4.56 was perfect. The trailer should weigh 7,000 to 8,000 loaded. It pulled best at 60MPH running 2100 RPM's in OD. Going faster really adds to the wind resistance and then it would not like staying in OD.

Pulled the large mountain grades just before Yuma, AZ doing 55 to 60 letting the cruise control do it. I thought that was really good.

The gears had a slight ringing loudest at 57 MPH and would go away at 60. I may need to re adjust a few things. But damn are them gears worth it!

Especially UNLOADED! The truck is one wicked beast with the mods and the 4.56 LSD rear
I don't think I need to worry about any Hemi Rams or Titans around here :)
It could just be my butt dyno. I'll hit the track in a week or so. Maybe this Friday or Saturday...

Speaking of going to the track. 1hotkakota, you out there dude? I'm almost ready to go to the track again.

nice pics it look like the air bags made all the difference and the undercarriage of that quad. "just confusing"

did you get better traction and handling from the air bags with the truck unloaded?

You can count on me being there. My truck is in bad shape right now but I will be out there any way. I know some rice burners who want to go to the track and I really gotta see the difference in your E.T.s. I just might have to get me some gears this christmas.
