even if he gets the oil out of the reserves, how's he going to get it refined into gasoline? he better leave that oil where it's at. just do what they've done already, temporarily do away with the epa restrictions for that blended gas.

An ass is far to kind of a word to apply to you! I don't know if there is a word to accurately describe what kind of sorry person you are. I personally don't live on the coast and don't need any help from you! New Orleans is a poverty stricken city that most people can not afford to leave. And even if they left, a natural disaster can strike anywhere. You have earthquakes out west, tornado alley in the central great plains, blizards in the north.....hell, the most powerful earthquake in north america's recorded history occurred in the south east corner of Missouri! No one is immune to nature's wrath and I for one will always be here to aid my fellow man, even you, when a natural disaster strikes. So you go on and call names and make your accusations, but remember that you might be next. Be it flood, fire, earthquake, tornado, or some other unseen force of nature, you could wake up tommorow with nothing. You could have no home, no car, no cloths, and family members unaccounted for. No one is immune.....no one!

ReadAllPosts and Observer, pardon me for thinking that you just might be foolish enough to invest in companies that are allegedly making obscene profits. Of course I never actually said that you were but that didn't stop your little rants. I was just suggesting that you put your money where your mouth is. It's been a long time since oil companies showed enough profit to make them worthwhile investing in. That's why I started to invest in them when Bush went to Iraq. It just seemed to be a no brainer.

Now what about that inflation thing that I mentioned? Anyone know how well oil has kept up with inflation or doesn't inflation play a factor in your dream worlds?

TO N56629,

I'll apologize for the fact that I mistook your meaning about investing in oil companies. No, I wish I did have the extra income to invest there, but I don't.

But with that said, I do have a problem with oil companies raking in hundreds of billions of dollars in profit when it is not necessary. I understand the inflation factor, but the fluctuation in gas prices is what is probably upsetting people the most, me included. If for once, the price could be set and stay there for a lenghty period of time, myself and many others could at least have an idea of what our budgeted amount for fuel will be from our paychecks. That is probably my biggest gripe. Consistency would a welcome change.

I just ask one person to go back and look at history 1973 Richard Nixon OIL SHORTAGE it kind of started there you see when you can get people to belive there is a shortage than price goes up I told a lot of people before we elected Bush we would have a oil shortage a sugar shortage a coffee shortage and do not forget the syntax on products the average working man buys? I also wonder about all the money we have put into Home Security after watching what has happened in New Orleans if we are going to be ready if and when we are attached again or if we are hit with a dirty bomb or bio weapon if we cant take care of AMERICANs due to a natural disaster what in GODs name will happen if we are hit by some nut with bio-weapons your tax dollars are being used to buy what this country needs in case of disaster and I just dont see that we have improved Homeland Security for the 100,000,000 or more spent I hope I am wrong.I just wish one person would go back to a history book and see who started oil shortage and than the rest said hey that works pretty good create a shortage and raise prices and reap the benifits or PROFITS I dont like the idea that they think we are that dumb? SORRY SO LONG
