Does the Reset of a Mopar PCM work the same as factory PCM? or do you need to reset the Mopar one at all. Is it smarter?

Mopar makes two pcms for the late model magnum V8 engines one is the Factory model and one is the Hi performance model. No, one is not smarter then the other. The factory model is designed for your every day driver and the hi-performance model REQUIRES the use of 92 or higher octain fuel and is designed for the street- strip or off roader that wants a bit more horsepower and torque. To reset your PCM disconnect your battery for a few minutes, and then turn on the key to the run position while the battery is disconnected. Then turn of the key, re-connect the battery and drive off. That's all there is to it. The only time I would reset the PCM is after making a modification to the intake or exhaust systems or after replacing a part that connects to the PCM. Or if I get a really rough idle as that can also fix small problems like that.

I'm running a .507/.533 lift custom grind Crower cam. PCM learned on its on. took some time but it learned. Like a 1000 miles or so. Mopar PCM. Hope this helps.

The Hughe's cam doesn't have as much duration as I'm running. plus I'm running 112 degrees lobe seperation. If I was you, I would double check that lift with the 1.6 rocker to make sure you have enough piston to valve clearance. I don't think you'll have too much trouble with the PCM. When I first started mine up, I was getting tons of fuel dumbed into it. Ran like crap. After awhile, it began to learn and adjust. It runs like a dream now. I have very strong top-end power now. Check on the clearance, I don't think you'll have trouble with the PCM.

The Mopar High Performance Magnum Engine Controller that I refered to is designed specifically for high performance camshafts air cleaners and exhaust systems available for Mopar Performance Parts. Source, page 49 of the current Mopar High Performance Catalog. So to answer your question no it will not need to be flashed or Jet chipped or anything else no matter what lift or duration you go to. To quote the catalog "These emission exempt high performance computers are designed to specifically for the 1992-00 Magnum vehicles. These computers are a direct replacement for the production computer and provide increases in both horsepower and torque without affecting driveablity, and can be used in conjunction with the specified performance air cleaners,exhaust systems and camshafts that are available through Mopar Performance Parts." You need to order by year engine size 4X4 4X2 California or federal Auto or manual trans and the 1998 and newer need the VIN and milage encoded by the dealer. also requires the use of 92 or higher fuel. Not recomended for towing trailers. Mopar's Magnum Engines Book (I don't have it) tells more. PN P4876668 $35 from your dealer.

Ok, I have one more question? Where can I fine the valve to piston clearence #'s so I can make sure my new mopar roller rockers and the cam I ordered is going to be ok before I install it.

Thanks for the advice on reseting the PCM. I added an air intake, and flowmaster 40 . didn't feel anything until i reset the PCM. thanks much

I installed a KRC210B cam (.512/.512 lift) and had to have the valve seats cut down as the stock heads/springs couldnt handle that much lift.
I ended up installing a set of new Magnum R/T performance heads that could handle up to .600 lift
