D@mn, Ive got some issues to work out here. Lets see another 6 inches of lift? That makes 9 total. Then a set of 37x12.50 All-Terrians, and then a set of 4.56 or 4.10's. So I need to get a hold of about $3,000. Anyone up for robbing a bank this week in Colorado?

I want the 6 inch lift pretty badly, but I think I might go big and buy custom rear springs if I did this.

Hey Crusty, I have a stock 2002 CC 4.7L w/ 3.92's, at 75mph I'm turning about 2500 rpms. I would definitely go with the 4.56's. That's if they're available.

btw I have an auto if that matters, in my opinion, 4.10's wouldn't cut it with 37's

Here straight from Truckin Suspension. It's not the well put together but I don't care I hope you guys don't either all the info is there.. well the parts involved in the lift.

The 99 and newer Dakota and Durango (with rack and pinion) lift kit has drop
down brackets for the upper control arms, front differential, lower control
arms, and rack and pinion, it utilizes 2 DD u-joints with heims idler to
connect steering to rack and pinion, it has a side to side cross brace (one
side left and one side right hand threaded with heims joints) from both
upper a-arm drop brackets for added rigidity, a new torsion bar cross member
and drop down brackets take care of the unboltable factory torsion bar cross
member, the rear lower a-arm drop is a one piece cross member for added
strength, the rear has many options to choose from, blocks and add a leaf,
shackle and hanger kit, or new leaf springs, this kit will allow you to run
35 inch tires with standard off sets. This kit also has an optional front
skid plate.

The above is talking about the 6" lift.

BTW the reason I'm going w/ 4" is because the largest gears available are 3.92 for our front end. If you guys can find something different have at it. Perhaps if you have your truck super charged it wouldn't matter as much. Also I don't care for how 35's look they are to skinny for how tall they are. That's just my opinion though. I'll get the information about the warrentee to you as soon as I call them ... today.
LOL this is turning into a daily call.

Knobbyman,
Do you know what size lift was on the test dak (dpkerns truck)? Because if it is a 6" lift and he said that his 33" are rubbing, then how will we be able to run 35" tires? Do we have to get a body lift to accomplish that? Thanks

They are 33x12.5x15's mounted on 15x10 wheels.. the reason they are rubbing is beacuse he used wider wheels.

6.5" should clear 35's .. Should we won't know until someone actually tries it though.

I just looked on at www.truckinsuspension.com and they have all three dakota lifts on their site for sale. So does this mean that they are done with it????Hopefully!!!!

Just some questions. If I were to get the 6.5 inch lift and then a 3 inch body lift or just get the 9.5 inch susp. lift. Which would be better??
Would 35" look to small for a 9" lift??
Sorry for all of the ?'s, any help would be greatly appreciated!

MJH,
It looks like you may need to go 9 inches in order to get 35's under your truck. From what I've heard 35's rub with the 6.5" lift. I'd go suspension all the way. Every guy I've talked to that had a body lift, then added a suspension lift, always tell me they wish they'd left the body lift off. Just some info for ya.

Personally, I'd like to run 35X12.5's on 15X8" wheels with a 6.5" suspension lift. I'm trying to find out whether it's possible without rubbing but haven't received a response from Ian, although he's read my email. ;)

I've also emailed dpkerns. Hopefully he will be able to give me some insight to post.

Take care,

I know this is a stupid question but is there anything you can do to the 9.5" lift to make it lower? Like 8.5" or something?? 9.5" may be alittle too high.

Ok Guys.. Here's the deal..

The lifts are done being developed but they haven't been made yet.. In otherwords they are making them as I type. But they don't have them in inventory. Suposidly I will get the first one and then I will let you guys know how it goes from there.

dpkerns is running a 6.5" lift with 33x12.5x15 on 15x10 and he is rubbing. I don't know how much but I do know that it's because he's on 10" wheels.

Dakota - Get a Rancho lift they have one for 97-99.

I got this from truckinsuspension regaurding tire sizes and the free install:

I am getting more info on the tire sizes and what will work. I’ll have to get back to you on that.

As for the free install, we had to discontinue that promotion. The free install was part of our old pricing structure when a front lift kit cost $1,700 and did not include a rear lift or shocks. The final cost of a lift kit at that price was in the $2,300 range. We now offer our kits complete with hangers and shackles in the rear and shocks for $1,295 and you can get installation anywhere you want.

Currently the kits are only available online or through a few select dealers in Southern California, Arizona, and Rhode Island.

Thanks,

Knobbyman,

Dakota and I want more than 3" of Rancho lift.
I would love 6+" without having to settle for the tuff country 5.5" lift which has had some problems. It's always nice to have more options.

33's with a 6.5" lift is a little small. People have squeezed 35's with the 5.5" tuff county lift. So that being said, 8" rims 35's and a 6.5 " lift should work.
Go to one of my pages:
www.geocities.com/cjf7148/tires.html
holding your mouse over each picture will show you what lift and tires each truck has to give you an idea of how a truck will look.
