Subject: Truckin Lift Kits........
IP: Logged

Message:
For starters, I own a 2001 Dak Quad Cab 4x4. I just installed a 6.5 inch truckin lift in April of 2004. By the way I own a performance shop, so I know what I am doing when it comes to lift installation. After doing a pro install on the kit I was able to drive the truck for 160 miles before the kit caused too much stress on the 3rd member housing in turn fracturing the mounting tab on the third member housing and the transmission mounting point, rendering my truck useless. So my next step was to contact truckin's tech support to see what kind of assistance they had to offer, not much other than the brackets could have been bad or it was caused due to some outside force. 160 miles? I was told by James at Tech support that they could build a bracket to reinforce the factory hardware, but they would offer no help as to the broken factory parts, because there was no way the kit would have caused this. BULLSH*T!!!!! They build a great looking kit that is worthless for anyone that actually wants to drive their truck. I will make other posts to answer questions, this one is getting a little longer than people like to read.

By the way, James at Truckin said he dosen't care about bad publicity and they don't care if they lose some customers because "they are such A Huge Company" Nice to see their true colors.

Oh but Fruckin said that they have only had one problem with the kit on a red quad cab, and they know nothing about knobbymans truck. And yes I know I should have done a little more reading on it. Shame on me......

This is not the only place they get bad publicity.

Another site I go to had a Dakota owner ask about Truckin / AIM/ Chassis Tech and the responses from other truck owners, mostlyu Fords, would not back up the lifts they make and they also said they were crap.

But not everyone checks out these message boards and people buy because they do a search and find what they want and buy it. Thank goodness for message boards and other peoples mis fortune!

I'm thinking about doing a 3" suspension and a 3" body w/ 35's...i'm just wondering if there is any way that i can get the 5.5" made for a 4wd fabricated to fit my 2wd? I want it to be a beastly looking machine!

I have the 3" rancho and it is hardcore. The only problem is it won't fit the 33's I purchased with it. They rub on the front bumper and inside the fender a bit.
