i have a 99 dak v-6. i DROPPED IT WITH SPRING AND HANGER SHACLES. 3/5 i want to put airbags in the front need some info do i need new control arms. also what size tank? i think i am going to get 2500 and a 1/3 hp compressor mounts. how hard is it to relocate the front shacks also where do you get them from.

I would get the Front a arms that are already made for bags from Aim or Airride Technologies. Or if you have welding experience you could fabricate yuor own bag mounts on your a arms. I did relocate my shock mounts on my truck too. If you bag it with your stock a arms you will not lay out you will have to purchase drop a arms or the a arms set up for bags. I have front and back on my truck and I would not recommend doing just the front. I don't understand why you want to do just the front are you planning on doing the rear. I have seen trucks that are just bagged in the front or back and it looks horrible because it doesn't sit level when you drop it.

i dont nned a super fast system yes i can weld. it just i dont need the back any lower i like the look with the back up and the front down. is it a pain to relocate shocks.

Try going with Air Ride's Shockwaves. I run a pair on my '98 and they do quite well. Plus, you don't have to relocate your shocks, and tuning the shock on the Shockwave is a snap. You will, however, have to trim out the spring pocket in the frame to get the clearence for the fittings on the bag. That's a far cry from having to relocate the shock to the outside of the frame.

The only draw back is that you will have to get a true 150 psi. compressor to run the Shockwaves, but they do rise pretty quick and they ride real well, not the luxury car feel that Air Ride claims, but for a dropped truck, it is smooth.

Do not go with AIM's "Airwaves." I've heard alot of bad things about them, so don't think that you're getting a deal when you see the price difference between Air Ride and AIM. In this case you get what you pay for.

Whatever you do, do not get the Airwaves!!! I went through two pairs ($1100) before I realized they were $hit. They only have 2" of stroke, the shocks go out after about 2 months, the seals will leak, and nobody, absolutely nobody will warranty them. I haven't used the Shockwaves so I can't speak for them, but I doubt they have much stroke either, and you still have to run around 150psi.

Now I like having an air ride system, but it's a lot of work for a Dak, and tricky to get a good ride out of. If you want the front done right, have a custom shop fab it up for you. Or if you're a hardcore do-it-yourselfer, I'll show you my front air ride and how you can go from stock height to laying frame, and still have a better ride than any system on the market (and yes, relocating the shocks is a pain!)

If your truck is a daily driver, I recommend staying with the drop you have now. I'm sure it looks great and gets you where you need to go.

lok why did you have trouble relocating the shocks. with the 4 link the shocks shouldnt have been that big of a hassel.

Lok, are you running a 4-link rear? I'm thinkin of putting in Air Ride Technologies' Air4Link rear on my 92 CC 4x4. Yeah, I know its a 4x4, but I still want both front a rear on air. I imagine the rear end will be fairly simple... I can weld and do all that good stuff, but what am I gonna need up front? Will it even work if its a 4x4... cuz if not, some stuff is comin out... I have to get a new tranny anyways. But any info would be appreciated.
