After reading previous posts on lowering, yes i want to lower it and if you dont like it its just too bad isnt it! lol jk

if adjusting the torsion bars (up to a 2" drop) will affect ride (which i have to say is very loose stock), will getting performance shocks 2" shorter compensate? possible a sway package too? which i am considering getting with or without a drop

any info would be great thanks

Don't know much to help you , but I like your style. A drop down to what a 2wd is wouldn't look bad. Good luck, that could be a major undertaking. Someone here should be able to give you some constructive ideas.

theres a guy running around with a dropped durango r/t (awd), so i figured id talk to him, since this question has been asked so many times

he dropped it by loosening the control arms, and 3 inch blocks (for a 2/3). i asked him about the ride, he said he had stiff drop shocks, and the only major difference he saw was looseness above 80 mph. i imagine if you do the same, but add decent shocks for a stock height 2wd, it may help compensate...

Thanks for the helpful comments, love the guys that come on these forums just to bash, its funny what the have to say sometimes.

Not looking to swap for a 2wd.

I have read that the CV joint get a lot of extra stress cause of the torsion tightening puttin a lot of angle on them. Wondering if anyone has heard of or knows if a polyurethane performance kit has come out for the dak 4x4 front suspenion?

Also, wondering what the difference in height btwn 2wd and 4wd models are? should be able to swap out any performance shocks from 2wd models if i know the difference, adjusting the torsion bars to compensate the difference if possible.

never heard about the joints being stressed. im not sure but i think the difference in 4wd is it sits more even, maybe b/c the front differential? who knows, i have know clue. in my previous post i meant torsion bars, not control arms, doh! but like i said, i think a pair of performance shocks (maybe doestech or something) would compensate for the loosness. let us know how it goes!

joeee, I'm sorry, but the KA motor can die and burn in hell. It's a God damn truck motor, it's awesome for around town driving cause of that nice low end. However, for what it should be used for, road racing, it's complete sh!t. SR20DET is the only way to go. Hell, it's not even that hard of a swap.

It is good to know there is other people out here as crazy as me. Hey HYP I hope you got my mail. Let me know if I can help anymore. Oh by the way, I've got about 2000 miles on my truck since I lowered it and no problems yet. Finding shocks is a task though. I think I have 4wd Nissan pickup front shocks now and Ford Aerostar rear shocks. Ha Ha.
