Chrysler has a new TPS which has rid of the potentiometer and now uses two hall effect devices. It is a direct replacement for the old style TPS, it uses a 5V ref. and produces the same signal. It is on the 3.7L and 4.7L engines for sure right now and it will be used across the board soon.

no moving touching parts, therefore no wear and hopefully they will give less trouble

OK You say it uses a .5 VDC reference, but can it be adjusted to give the optimal voltage for the Magnum engine? I checked the voltage on my old style TPS and it was .613 VDC. I drilled out the brass inserts in my TPS and adjusted it to .745 VDC and gained a fair amount of throttle response.
