Message:
I put one of those chlorine based oil additives in my truck but no longer want to use it.What procedure is needed to remove a "reactive" additive from an engine? My brother-in-law said to just drain the oil without changing the filter and fill it back up with a quart of marvel mystery oil and 4 qts.of petroleum oil and leave it in for 25 miles to flush it out and then drain and change again. Is this acceptable?

Whoa, Beam me up Scotty...

Way too confusing and a warning to everyone else
to avoid aftermarket additives that upset
the "delicate balance" of todays motor oils.
