Subject: TB connections! HELP
IP: Logged

Message:
I just installed an RT TB (on a 3.9) and the throttle cable is the right length but the wrong adapter (the V6 TB is like a "ball joint" and the V8 TB is like on that slides/clips on).

My question: Is there a way to rig something to work? I know about speed tweeks and it doesn't deal with this issue, just if the cabel is too long or short...

Also, where can I get a V8 cable other than the dealers? All of the parts dept are closed at the stinkin dealers and AutoZone and Advance don't have any.

thanx....

I think Holley makes some adapters to convert it but you would be better off getting the V8 Cable.

Take the V8 Tb off and wait till you can get one.

Here is the Mopar ## for it 53031556AB V8 TB Cable for Dakota

Thx for the part number... I have it rigged where i'll be able to drive to the dealer on monday... driving the wifes car till then...

How do you install a cabel? Does the "assembly" come apart right next to the TB or does it pull out of the firewall? Thanks for the help.

I'll post pics of how i rigged it soon. your gonna laugh.

If it comes apart, it'll just sit and idle correct?

You'll need to disconnect it from the bracket on the TB as well as the firewall and gas pedal. There are instructions on SpeesTweaks on how to swap out the cable. When you get your V8 cable and look at it, it'll be obvious what you need to do. It's not difficult at all.
