 Subject: mystery wire

I have a mystery wire I took off my 1999 Dakota 4X4 6 cylinder over a year ago and now cannot figure out where it goes. this wire is about 8" long and has a tag on it. the tag has 3 sets of numbers and 2 bar codes. the tag is secured to the wire with red tape. I had issues with an animal chewing the electrical and a gas line. now that I finally found a replacement gas line at a salvage yard I put everything (almost) back together, but can not figure out where this wire goes. I can not see any connector that does not already have its connection. all the connections from the main harness are complete. anyone have a clue? I do have the numbers on the tag if that helps.
