Ok so me and my buddies got bored and decidd to test drive stuff. I saw a really nice lookin Black R/T and finally got to test drive one of these bad boys. I love my 4x4 and could never part with it unless i found the perfect set up. None the less it only had 46000 on it and was loaded. I ask for a price and I'm quite shocked. At the end it would cost $14,832.50 after tags and fees. I look up on KBB and they say $9,500.
How do they have the balls to try and sell it for $5K over?

Isn't it funny that the older a car is the more it is worth. In 20 yrs that R/T will be worth a lot more. A car is worth what someone is willing to pay. In this case if you want a low milage loaded truck with a 360 it may be worth more than blue book. there's a Buick GNX in a dealer's showroom here and they are asking $50,000. Wonder what the book value is? lol

I doubt that '99 RT is going up in value. I've seen other R/T's listed around that are newer and are less than that one. I guess maybe it's the only one within a certain radius so they figure they can charge what they want. The sales guy told me they got it at an auction so I know they didn't pay squat for it. Plus the seat release handles for the rear passengers weren't even attatched to the seat. They busted lose from the screws holding them in. Only thing aftermarket from what I saw was the K&N CAI. That's it no exhaust no nothin. The test drive to me was kind of disappointing. Granted there were 4 of us and that's a lot of weight. I think I was just expecting a little more. Either way if it were a reg cab I would definately be interested. I just would have to tell them there's no way they're getting close to 15K for it.

If I went from my 01, 4.7, manual tranny, and some minor mods, I'd be disappointed also if I test drove an r/t, cause it would be slower!

The dealership was just trying to gouge a buyer, plain and simple. The 03 RC R/T with 26k I'm selling KBB's for about $15500, so they are way over book for that 99.

Yea me and my buddies were just test driving stuff to pass some time. I don't want to buy it...ok I would if I had the money and they came WAY down in price but right now I can't part with my good ole V6 4wd...Once I'm done with this stupid training command I plan on partaking in some hunting once I'm at my new command and i'm ashore. Other than that the only way I would think about it is if it was a reg cab completely black and loaded. The worst thing was is that the Salesman even told me they got it from an auction.
