Chris was not posting a link to his website in his signature. He posted it in his text. I reported the thread to Mark and Mark removed it.

Sad that Chris, his wife and others have to be deceitful and post here under false names to steal from a superior site.

I didn't notice it this time, but I have noticed in the past that when members from that board come over here to persuade us to join, the trolls come out of the woodwork on other threads. Then the Dakotausa people emphasize that this board has turned to crap and there aren't any trolls on *their* board, which is why we should leave this one and join theirs. Coincidence? You decide.

Another interesting thing, Alexa ranks DodgeDakotas.com's traffic rank at 39,823 and Dakotausa at a piddly 469,628 (both 3 month averages).

I find it interesting that morons like Interesting 1) don't use a real name 2) try to make us believe that we can't belong to more than one Dakota board.

The real reason this board is the way it is is because higher hit numbers demand higher banner revenue. Mark and Steve make more money when they can show potential advertisers how many eye balls will be on their ads. That's all. It's bid-niz.

As a Dakota forum, this board sucks shlt. It's useless and most of the *members* don't know their asses from a hole in the ground. But it's a great place to come to flame and spread misinformation.

I use other boards when I want to talk seriously about my truck. The people here are just too stupid.

Yeah, It does make you wonder if all the trash talkers are from DakotaUSA. What would be the best way to encourage members form another site to come to yours? Go to their site and "spam" it.

I'm sorry. Is YouDontSay YOUR real name?

I never said we COULDN'T belong to more than one board. But usually (and like I said, I didn't notice it this time) they are trying to persuade us to use theirs instead, not in addition to.

If you want conversation, got to Dakotausa. If you want information about Dakotas, go to Dodgedakotas.com. That's what CBS did, right? I know, I know, you guys are still jealous about that.

I noticed that besides myself, Mark is the only one who has posted on this site that is a member. Wally, if you are so high on this site, why don't you join? I belong to both sites and both have their good and bad points. There are too many tolls here, but it isn't as bad as it was a year ago, and there is more information here than any other Dakota site. At DakotaUSA, you don't get any trolls, and there is good info there too, but there are too many categories. Everything is split up too much. Another site I really enjoy is Dakotatrucks.com. Not much traffic after the system crashed a few monts back, but the site is stable now and it's more like a family atmosphere over there. I've given money to Chris at DakotaUSA, and I would give money to Lynn at Dakotatrucks too if he asked for it, but he never has. I'm not affiliated with either site, I'm just trying to offer alternatives. Each one is better than this site in some respects and this site is better than they are in others.

Hey Timberwolf,

I've seen you on the other sites.
Different picture of your truck!

I will say nothing negative about the other sites. Personally, I prefer this "open format" --- even though the "open format" leaves the door open for abuse. I feel the "Search Forum" feature on this site is faster, and it's easier to get the info you need.

It would be much more beneficial if everyone on this site put their trucks year, model, engine, etc., in the Subject line, along with one or two words regarding the topic. Something like this:

2001 4.7, Engine Overheating
1998 V6, Noise on Acceleration

Also, we have Larry of J&J Auto, ...
... and quite a few others that are very knowledgeable.

Just my .02

As a once paying member of this site, and a current resident of DakotaUSA i feel that both sites have something to offer. Its just that with less trolls, and a susbstantial SoCal member group at DakotaUSA i spend more time there.

I personally think that one of two solutions would work to help resolve the internet troll problems here:

1) Fix the software so it accepts more than one administrator, so sub-admins could be added to help police the forums. It's obvious that Mark doesn't have the time or interest anymore to cruise through on a daily basis. Mark does a good job of purging bad notes when someone points them out, but they're appearing more often than they're disappearing.

2) Get rid of the "members only" sections since it's not being used very often, and activate the existing registration system for all users. What few people the site would lose because of requiring a more proper login process would easily be offset by drastically reducing the internet trolls (just freeze/ban their accounts when they pop up).

I never even paid attn that you could change it.

Steve,
That is a great suggestion. As my changed subject suggests, I never even looked at that. By the way, you take alot of abuse on this site and you do a great job of keeping an even keel. Better than I could ever do. For those who slam Amsoil without trying it, it's their loss. I started to do the extended drain last year, but chickened out and changed it after about 6 months. I think I may try it again this summer.
Each site has it's place. I used to rip on this site, but I have learned to ignore the juvenile factor a little better of late.
